Natalie + Mark are talented wedding filmmakers (you may recognize them from their self-made engagement video we featured!) with super rad taste, so when it came time to plan their colorful Pennsylvania farm wedding, they created a celebration filled with unique mid-century details + lots of music-inspired design elements. I can’t wait for you to see the bright, mismatched bridesmaid’s dresses + the fun, retro-style place settings! I just love the whole vibe these two created. Here’s more from Natalie:
Mark and I both really appreciate the aesthetic and vibes of the mid-century era but were born in the 80s in the woods and farmlands of Pennsylvania. In planning the style of our wedding day, we wanted to meld our love of nature (especially fall) and our fondness of the 50s & 60s. Music was a big influencer in a lot of our design elements, too, because our musical backgrounds – I’m a drummer, Mark’s a guitarist – have created deep roots in our relationship. Keeping our day as simple and carefree as possible for all of our near and dear friends and family was a huge determining factor in planning a lot of aspects of our wedding weekend. When we stumbled upon Sweetwater Farm, we knew in an instant it was the perfect place for us to stay and celebrate the weekend away.
Big thanks to With Love & Embers for sending this beautiful wedding our way + congratulations to Natalie + Mark!
Isn’t Natalie’s Twigs & Honey hairpiece lovely?

Hands down, the most special moment of our wedding day for both of us was driving away from the ceremony in Mark’s dad’s decked out 1967 Austin Healy 3000 MKIII. Mark’s father passed away just 3 days before our first date, and while I never was able to meet him in person, the presence of his beloved car on our wedding day made it feel like he was there celebrating with us, especially in those moments on the tree-lined back roads.
My dad has an incredible Ringo Starr style Ludwig rocker drumset from the 60s that I grew up playing before I had my own. I was so excited when I found a tiny replica set online that I retrofitted with our Wallaces logo to serve as our cake topper.
I love their gorgeous wedding video from Paperback Weddings!
As wedding filmmakers, for people who aren’t often in front of the camera, it was important for us to choose photo and cinema teams whose personalities matched ours (so that we were comfortable enough for our personalities to come through in the moments they captured) and companies whose aesthetics matched each other’s so our images and film were seamless. Asking our dear friends, Jill & Ryan, to photograph our wedding and choosing Daniel + Austin of Paperback to film it were the two best decisions we made in our wedding planning process.
From an insider’s perspective, I always understood the importance of having a wedding film but after being a bride + groom ourselves, the importance is embedded in us even more. There is something so undeniably real about seeing and hearing moments, big and small, that make the day come to life in a way all its own once the wedding is over. If there’s one thing I must say about wedding films, it’s this: really take the time to hire someone great to film your day. And if there’s one thing I have to say about wedding vendors, in general, it’s this: hire people with personalities that you LOVE. You will be spending a lot of time with these people and the more you love them, the more they will love you (and the more they will help bring your vision to life).

I was totally floored by this wedding and the video to go with it. Yes, I sat through the whole 16 minutes. I was totally mesmerized by the love, care, thought, sincerity and quirkyness they expressed in the film and with each other.
