You know you can expect a few fun creative touches when a couple decides to get married at an art center—and Michelle + Anthony certainly do not disappoint! With some planning help from Riley Loves Lulu, these two created a gorgeous day filled with ultra violet geometric shapes, lucite details, watercolor, and wild florals. Michelle filled us in on her main design inspiration:
Our venue, Headlands Center for the Arts, is a pair of artist-renovated army barracks with intricate stamped tin ceilings & lustrous original plaster walls. To compliment the beautiful venue, we wanted to keep our added decor fairly simple & modern. For the things that we did add, we were inspired by watercolor paintings and the colors and textures found in flowers and foliage.
Jerry Yoon Photographers captured all the photos from the day—let’s have a look, shall we?
Love this sweet mix of pinks and pale purples!
SO cool—the perfect mixture of modern and rustic.
Eothen created some incredible florals for the day, and we’re totally wild over this aisle over hang!
Processional: Crystal by Of Monsters and Men (wedding party) | Angels by The XX (bride)
Recessional: Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
First Dance: We opted out!
Michelle looked lovely in a Leanne Marshall gown and Anthony suited up in Indochino!
Loving those ultra violet details!
Each table had a different unique vessel to hold those vibrant, wild flowers.
Michelle created the signage by hand painting that amazing marbled design on lucite!
AND, she folded all of these paper geometric shapes for the welcome table. LOVE this.
Loving that DIY element but not sure where to start? Here are a few ideas:

So cute!!
Piñatas! We had piñatas at our birthday parties, so we wanted to continue the tradition at our wedding. During cocktail hour, we rounded up all the kids to take turns hitting the piñata. It was a great way to get outside and to mingle with the guests in a more casual environment
Make your wedding your own: If you don't feel like having certain "traditional" elements, leave them out. Likewise, add whatever you feel would make you and your guests enjoy themselves. Don't stress over details. Guests won't know if you didn't have time to finish everything on your planning list.
A perfectly sweet ending to a gorgeous day! Congrats to Michelle + Anthony from all of us at GWS!
