From the rug-lined aisle to the gold chairs to all the colorful antiques, Kara + Mark’s wedding was a vintage-inspired masterpiece! Held at Big Daddy’s Antiques in Los Angeles (also featured in our Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married), the two pulled a lot of inspiration from the venue itself. They actually picked the location because it reminded them of what they love most about their relationship, and with the help of So Smitten Events, it all came together flawlessly.
K shares: We are crazy, wacky, fun, bold, and weird and that is what Big Daddy’s Antiques exudes. Additionally, I am an aspiring interior designer and our wedding was an opportunity to showcase my passion. I used the venue and combined it with bold colors and eclectic pieces, taking cues from some of our favorite movies and directors (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Harriet the Spy, and Wes Anderson).
With a focus on the details, and a fun color palette of yellow, peach, and navy — get ready for a ton of eye-catching delights that Mary Costa Photography captured!

The Vintage Door Backdrop

From the ceremony to the reception, everything was furnished with antique décor. Isn’t this door backdrop, covered in the creamy florals absolutely stunning? Plus those copper chairs! Such a luxe touch.

Our Musical Choices

The Newlyweds

HOLD THE PHONE. Kara’s dress!! Opting for something textured, with a slight bit of color, Kara actually purchased her gown directly from the designer, Jann Marie Bridal.

Equally as stylish, Mark donned a seriously cool emerald green suit.

The Florals

HELLO, florals! The Bloemist took their color palette and ran wild… and we’re so glad they did!

Can’t get over those gorgeous blooms and the way the orange is complemented by the blues!

Our Advice
Be assertive with your vision. Don't let others tell you what you want.
The Antique Reception

Aren’t these tablescapes darling? A mix of antique tables with stunning blue linens, and popping orange hues make these seriously eye-catching.

Don’t have enough of the same chairs? No problem! We’re ALL for mix and match chairs.

Peep at that woven backdrop behind the couple’s gorgeous sweetheart table. Fit for royalty, don’t you think?

Our Favorite Memory
Watching our friends and family enjoy themselves to the beat of our soundtrack. Shout out to the best DJ ever, Nguyen from Blackbook Social Club.

To top off the gorgeous day, they had to have a gorgeous cake! Lark Cake Shop crafted this watercolor + gold masterpiece, topped with florals.
We’re so THRILLED that you brought your unique relationship into your big day. Congratulations, K+M!
