Amanda is a Texas gal at heart, but moved to New York for her dream job and ending up meeting her soul mate Steven there. I love that they share their “New York Love Story” in their lovely wedding invitations and that you can really see their personalities in the day. And Amanda’s wedding attire is super unique – a plaid shirt and tull skirt – love! Thanks to Bend the Light photography for letting me share this unique wedding and congrats to Amanda + Steven. :)
Love their unique invitation from Mr. Boddington’s Studio which tells Amanda + Steven’s love story. Here’s what it says:
December 11, 2009:
Amanda packs up and leaves little old Fairfield, Texas
for New York City to pursue her high-fashion dreams.
January 27, 2010
While shopping for cashews one day in Brooklyn, Steven strikes up a chat
with the girl holding a bag of pecans. He loves her Texas twang.
May 16, 2010
On their first date, Amanda wonders is Steven wears his hair
in a pompadour every day (he does). Steven wonders if there is a law
that prohibits vegetarians from dating meat-eaters (there isn’t).
July 3, 2010
After asking her twice, Steven officially proposes to Amanda in
Washington Square Park. Amanda officially says yes.
April 9, 2011
Vowing to always shop for groceries together,
the happy couple ties the knot in San Antonio.
How fun is Amanda’s out-of-the-ordinary wedding ensemble from J Crew!
I love first looks between the bride and groom, but this is the first time I’ve seen a first look between father + daughter and it is so incredibly sweet! Amanda and her dad are incredibly close, so she came up with the idea to do a special ‘first-look’ with her father.
Amanda + Steven’s wedding ceremony was very intimate  – there were a total of 5 wedding guests and 3 instrumentalists.
Love that they used their silhouettes on lots of the paper details! And with a small wedding, you have one table to focus on which keeps things a lot simpler. :)
Congrats to Amanda + Steven on their perfectly them wedding!

We LOVE weddings where the bride and groom’s personalities show! This looks like it was such a fun day and the bride is beautiful! Her headpiece is especially awesome. <3
Oh, man…there’s so much to love about this wedding! The bride’s wardrobe, the sweet first look with her dad, the happy colors – adorable!
I just love this wedding. Playful, fun and unique! Love the dress too! Great job by the photographer: great moments captured
Oh my gosh her dress is so stinkin cute! What an adorable wedding.
This is the sweetest wedding I have seen in a long time! Her dress, stunning, his hair, stunning, the guest list, amazing! I felt like I was there sharing in their love for each other. How refreshing and so real and astonishing. Loved their printed material and their attention to detail, it really made me feel like I knew them by the end of the post. LOVELY!
This wedding is adorable!! I wish more people went for intimate weddings like this one. There is so much personality. I love it!
This is so romantic, and I really love her outfit. And his hair!
I say it all the time, but you guys are my fav wedding website! This is adorable. I love that even though it was small, they went all out with decor and got a great photographer. We did that too, and I think sometimes people feel like they can’t unless they’re having a big affair. This wedding perfectly reminds us to do what you want on your special day.
Such a fun wedding! Thanks for showing an intimate wedding, GWS! I am planning an intimate wedding of 16 guests next year and it really helps to see that small weddings can have a ton of personality too :)
Loads of personality in this wedding! Looks like they had a lot of fun too :)
Oh my gosh, that Dr. Pepper cart is adorable!
This is just perfect! Any news on where her veil and headpiece came from?
It isn’t often that the menfolk shine as bright as the bride at a wedding, but between the groom’s ‘do and the father’s sweet nervousness, this bride has some pretty suave fellas in her life. Also, Dr. Pepper cart and that table…so good.
OMG!!I’m in love with this wedding!Warm, happy and romantic!I’m moved by the photo that bride with her father!llove the originality of the whole planning!!!
the father-daughter first look made me tear up! love how small and intimate it was
I love small weddings, so sweet and special. And the groom’s hair = fantastic!
I love everything about this wedding but that brides attire is spectacular- in love with the button up and dreamy skirt.
Beautiful pictures!
