This couple is just the cutest + I love all the thought they put into their engagement photos. From Carmen + Pete, “We heart the Beatles…a lot. I grew up listening to the Beatles with my dad. Pete discovered the Beatles from his older brothers. Years later, the Beatles would help solidify our bond. Though the Beatles cover many themes in their songs, clearly they sang mostly about love. They sang about love with a rawness & softness that spoke to us. We enjoy listening to them together, talking about their amazing talent for harmony and the stories behind the music.
The highlight of our summers in Los Angeles is going to the Hollywood Bowl to enjoy their summer concert series. We love taking our picnic basket full of goodies & wine and watching the sunset while listening to some fantastic tunes. The acoustics at the Hollywood Bowl are amazing! One of our favorite concerts we saw at the Bowl was Paul McCartney. He can still rock it out! The Beatles performed some legendary concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. As a result, the Hollywood Bowl is an important landmark in Beatles’ history. When we began to brainstorm our engagement session, the Hollywood Bowl immediately came to mind. Not only do we love going there for summer picnics, but you can’t think of the Hollywood Bowl without thinking of the Beatles. It was the perfect place that represented us: The ShuGars (our nickname from both of our last names).”
Thanks so much to Ashley Rose Photography for sharing the gorgeous photos!
Pete proposed to Carmen by singing a Beatles song and changing some of the lyrics for the occasion.
Pete is a filmmaker and a classic film enthusiast, so they also wanted to incorporate that into their photos.
The idea was to show us having fun, being playful, being romantic and in love. We want those who look at the pictures to have a good time with us. We wanted to suggest some elements of our story and personalities in the shoot without having to be too literal or overt.
All you need is ShuGar Love! Thanks so much Ashley! Ashley Rose Photography is located in Orange County, CA. See more from the shoot here on her blog.
