Here at GWS, we’ve seen some pretty incredible elopements… From Iceland and Ireland, to Yosemite National Park, and beyond! Well, today’s elopement is nothing short of incredible, in fact, it’s downright enchanting! Sophie + Reeda decided to elope in their home city of London, with the help of planner + designer, Paloma Cruz Eventos. The day started off with a sweet + intimate in-home shoot, followed by the ceremony (officiated by one of their best friends) in the Brompton Cemetery, and a small, yet super dreamy dinner in their flat.
Everything was simple and elegant, yet relaxed, too. Let’s head to London with the captures by Pablo Laguia!
How darling is this?! We love when the couple invites the photographer in for sweet + intimate portraits… Nothing posed, just the raw connection + love between them.
The first time we saw each other in our wedding outfits... I about cried! It was the moment that made it all real. After planning for so long, it was awesome to see the day come to fruition.
Hello GORGEOUS! Maria Catalá kept Sophie looking glam all day + Sagoa perfected her effortlessly beautiful curls.
How dapper is he? Reeda’s suit is by Ancla Uomo.
Sophie’s sophisticated + lacy wedding dress is by Rime Arodaky.
The bouquet, by Grace and Thorn, matched the neutral tones of the surrounding area, and incorporated subtle pops of bolder colors.
How perfect is this?! That “And so it begins…” sign is from Bag and Bones.
All the feels!! The couple tells us We chose Brompton Cemetery for the ceremony — although it is a cemetery and a place rich with history, it is also a charming spot where you can feel cozy, especially with the moody winter colors. We liked the idea of the empty quietness too, and the reminder of the circle of life.
Eerie, yet enchanting. Right?
TOO PERFECT!
Following the ceremony, the couple came back to the loveliest dinner table, set up for them by Paloma Cruz Eventos.
Absolutely LOVE! Wilma Event Design provided all the pretty tabletop décor.
All the string lights!! So maybe they’re not that easy to untangle, but they sure do make for some dreamy photos…
There are no rules. Don't sell yourself short because you think you have to follow tradition. Make the day truly about you two; have fun and play around. Honestly, just do it! It's the best feeling in the world.
That. Was. Incredible. A huge congratulations to you, Sophie + Reeda!
