Danielle + Carlo are a fun-loving duo who wanted their day to be just as playful + energetic as they are! Choosing the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs was the first of many stellar decisions this couple made. The event design was vivid + whimsical, their attire was super sleek + stylish, and from the get-go, they made it a point (and a priority) to just relax + enjoy their day. That’s something I always love to hear!
A more about the celebration, directly from Danielle, We got engaged in Baja, Mexico, so the desert has always been important to us. We incorporated elements of our life in Brooklyn into our wedding weekend in California. Pretty much every part of our wedding was designed and built by our friends and family, from the music, to the event planning, to the judge who married us (my dad!). We surrounded ourselves with people who loved us and who we loved, and then set out to be guests at our own wedding!
Congratulations to Danielle + Carlo + big thanks to Mel Barlow from Mel & Co. for sharing their beautiful day with us!
Their adorable pup acted as their ring bearer + was decked out in a sweet gingham bow tie collar!
Major ceremony site envy! How cool is this airplant studded arch?!
As cliche as it sounds, our wedding day was as perfect as it could be, both intimate and joyous. The ceremony was unparalleled, especially when we read our vows to each other. So was sitting in the hot tub under the desert sky with our friends from all over the world at the end of the night. We also will never forget when our parents' friends went skinny dipping! All our guests travelled to spend the weekend with us, and it was the best gift any couple could receive!
Processional: Once There Was a Hushpuppy – Dan Romer + Benh Zeitlin, from Beasts of the Southern Wild
Recessional: All is Love – Karen O, sung by Brit Laurén
First Dance: That's the Way That the Wold Goes Round – Jerry Jeff Walker, Secret of Life – James Taylor, Old-Fashioned – Cee Lo Green
Keep the big picture in focus. Everyone will have a million different opinions, compromises will be made, and nothing will be perfect, but in the end what matters most is the people you love and each other. Also, don't forget to check in with your partner on the actual day and be present to the beauty of the moment. It's the most awesome experience and something that you will always remember.
