We are always looking for ways to stay a little bit healthy, even at fun events like bridal showers or brunches. Yogurt is definitely one of our go-tos, but we hadn’t heard of Aussie-style yogurt before, until we came across Yulu! Yulu is inspired by Aussie yogurt, but their delicious product is made in the USA. It’s extra creamy, double-smoothed (making it double delicious!) and best of all: healthy!
We had fun whipping up some super yummy parfaits using Yulu’s honey + vanilla flavors, and a slew of nourishing + amazing-tasting toppings. These recipes would totally come in handy at your bridal shower, for a day-after wedding brunch, or even just to enjoy this weekend!
We love that our parfaits were filling + felt like you were eating “real food”; something that we don’t always feel when we’re grabbing a quick breakfast or attending brunch with the girls. We created four fun recipes, perfect for any occasion that will surely satisfy different taste buds! Which one are you most excited to try?
Honey Blood Orange Yogurt Parfait
Directions: Place a layer of the Honey Yogurt in the jar. Next top with some of the blood orange pieces (we cut each orange slice into 3-4 pieces) along with some of the crushed pecans. Repeat that step two more times. That’s it! :)
Peanut Butter Banana Yogurt Parfait
Directions: Mix the Vanilla Yulu Yogurt with 2 tablespoons of Peanut Butter and 4 slices of bananas. Place about 3 tablespoons granola in the bottom of the jar. Then layer 5 slices of banana. Cover with the PB Yogurt mixture. Top with Granola + more sliced Bananas.
Nutella Parfait Yogurt
Directions: Mix the Vanilla Yulu Yogurt with 1 ½ tablespoons of Nutella. Set aside. Mix the hazelnuts and chocolate pieces. Next put a layer of the Nutella yogurt in the jar. Cover with a layer of the nut and chocolate mixture. Layer with the rest of the Nutella Yogurt. Garnish with Chocolate and Hazelnuts
Cherries + Red Wine Parfait
Directions: Chop your cherries and make sure you remove pits! We used about 10 cherries but feel free to add more or less for your own preference. Then add the chopped cherries to the saucepan with a few tablespoons of red wine and a teaspoon of sugar. Simmer until the liquid has thickened. Once it has thicken, cool before you top.
Put a layer of the honey yogurt in the jar, then top with a layer of your cherry mixture. Repeat two more times.
While many consider Greek yogurt an “acquired taste,” word on the street is that most people fall for Yulu from the very first spoonful. We can attest to its extra creamy and delicious flavor! Without the too-sour quality some find in Greek, and with 9 grams of protein in every cup, we love that it’s a nourishing choice too.
