And that, my friends, is where today’s inspiration stems from! Highlighting the darker and moodier elements, the team behind this edgy editorial focused more on the Wicked Witch of the West, the haunted forest, and the Emerald City Palace.
The planner, Chantilly Couture, shares: We made sure to incorporate the colors we are all familiar with when relating to the Wizard of Oz: green, gold, purple and black, but we wanted them to be a bit more muted and moody, so we added our own twist within that color scheme.

HOLY SMOKES. When it came to the delightful desserts, Amy Cakes pulled out all the stops. Not only did she impress with an emerald geode cake, but she dazzled with the painterly designs, too! As you might have guessed, they got their inspiration from the towering palace and Emerald City!
We’re loving the way the greenery is pinned to the cake to add to the overall whimsical feel!
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the groom’s sharp suit! From The Wardrobe OKC, it featured a cool almost snakeskin-like texture…
Everything about this is beautiful. The wild bouquet, the bride’s shrug, her crown, the gown… Her sultry makeup by Brittany Aldridge + curls done by Lexi Faught! Pure magic.
The Wicked Witch of the West would always appear and disappear in smoke so we thought the smoke bombs would serve as a small + sweet nod to her…
