Every day we get to tell your stories, share stunning photos, and talk about the latest trends — we’re inspired to the brim!! So, we thought it’d be fun to bring you an in-house editorial featuring a few of our current favorite trends. Sound good?! Our main inspiration stems from outdoor weddings with a boho vibe for both the couple + the decor style, with the overgrown wildflower trend (literally!) taking over…oh, and lots of color! Let’s bring back some color into weddings this year!!
Introducing Amazon Handmade
We love shopping small and supporting local makers, but that’s not always easy when you have a lot of things to find and a limited amount of time. (Wedding planning in a nutshell!) So, for this editorial we partnered with Amazon Handmade, an online marketplace for designers, creators and artists. The really amazing thing is that we shopped for everything from jewelry to decor on Handmade, so our local goods are global, too! The day was filled with unique items that you wouldn’t find anywhere else, and each one was created by a real person with a passion for their craft. Handmade makes it easy to support artists and for us, that’s a HUGE win!
Ready to see what we came up with? On a rare, cold day in California, our team took a drive to the wildly beautiful Wolf Feather Honey Farm in Temecula to make boho magic! We teamed up with Tularosa Flowers & LB Event Planning and called on the genius, Kristen Booth, to photograph it all. Let’s have a look!
We loved these cactus watercolor invitations by the Oregon-based studio, Alexa Nelson Prints. And as for the felt flowers, we just couldn’t resist – they happen to perfectly match the invitations!
Handcrafted Accessories
You can find some really gorgeous handcrafted jewelry from all over the globe on Handmade! Our bride’s engagement ring is a tourmaline gemstone + diamond gold plated piece and the groom’s yellow gold hammered wedding ring was made in Elizabeth Scott‘s New York studio. You can even find a velvet ring box to hold your bands!
The bride looked radiant with mermaid-esque locks and a classic cat eye by Girl Meets Bongga. And that stunning necklace is a delicate 14K gold layered pendant by JSVConcept in California!
Her peony flower crown is handmade by Lauren Lash Designs in Texas — we also love Lauren’s shop if you’re for some really fun bride + bachelorette accessories!
Handmade Groom Style
The groom was outfitted in some of our favorite Handmade finds for guys: leather suspenders with brass hardware, a floral necktie and a genuine European leather bracelet. If you’re looking for a good gift idea for your guy, the bracelet has a hidden inscription on the inside, which you can customize from the Portugal-based BeGenuine Store!
Ceremony with a View
How dreamy is this ceremony space?! We literally went wild with wildflowers and bold pops of color against the dusty landscape!
Dawn at Tularosa Flowers made our floral dreams come true with this overgrown crescent installation…and can you believe some of those blooms are actually paper flowers from Handmade?
Three words: Crystals…Quartz…Crown!! We love love love this crown, handmade by Brielle Brielle!
SO stunning. We can’t get over this ceremony installation!
A Colorful Boho Reception
We brought the overgrown floral idea to the reception with another gorgeous creation by Tularosa Flowers — loving this trend so much!
The fun thing about purchasing wedding decor from Handmade is undoubtedly the stories behind the products. For example, these smokeless and dripless (!) taper candles were hand-dipped using the same methods that were in place at the founding of Mole Hollow Candles in 1969!
We snatched up these wooden laser cut table numbers from the cutest little California shop, Cardtorial. And because they’re made of wood, they make for great keepsakes…hold on to them for monthly milestone makers when “baby makes three,” perhaps??
The reception table was dotted with so many fun Handmade finds: glass geometric candle holders (from Turkey!), organic beeswax tea lights, leather napkin rings, and even some more paper flowers amongst the real ones!
We called on our friends at Borrowed Blu for the tableware, and Adore Folklore provided the white vintage equipales for a little boho-esque seating both at the ceremony and reception spaces.
Sugar, Sugar
Sweetlee Made went above and beyond with TWO stunning cakes, macarons, donuts, and chocolate gems…how do you ever choose?
Of course, we set up the sweets with some more fun Handmade finds: the acacia wood slice under the pink cake was handcrafted in the Ukraine! The initial cake topper and heart cake topper are so cute and really added dimension to the cakes, as well.
This desserts sign is custom made and laser cut, so you can customize until your heart’s content!
And finally, how perfectly adorable are these “donut mind if I do” donut favor bags by Nottingham Paper Goods?
Wild Love
We had to take advantage of the magical grounds at Wolf Feather Honey Farm, so we paired some giant paper peonies with a custom LOVE marquee sign to wrap up the day! We love that the LOVE letters can be made in a few different sizes ( 18″, 24″, 36″ or 48″). The sign shown is 24″ letters – and these would look perfect after the wedding in your home, right?!
