A Refreshingly Stylish + Modern Take on the Baby Shower

If the term “baby shower” brings to mind images of guessing the “dirty” diaper, grazing over neon blue (or pink) frosted cupcakes, or a combination of the two – the diaper cake – we hear you. Perhaps we can all agree that the baby shower is overdue for a hip, fresh makeover, yes?! Here to usher in that new wave is the ever-stylish duo, Tina + Brian, owners of menswear and accessory company, (multee)project.

Tina shared her vision for the day: Brian and I wanted the baby shower to be a combination of things we both love and we’re always experimenting with different textures and materials for (multee)project. Brian collects vintage Japanese textiles, a love passed down from his grandma who’s Japanese, which is where all the indigo comes in. I love black and white graphic patterns, blush tones, and I absolutely believe that anything is better with tassels.

T+B called on Aly at Luna Wild to help design and plan the day, who was elated to get started in the inspiring space: an empty, private home designed by Smid. Tina had an amazing vision for colors and textures, but we knew the inspiration would take on new life once we saw the house where the shower would take place. When we walked into the empty house we all were giddy because Smid gave us such a great backdrop for designing. We wanted to carry on mixing metals, deep indigos, velvet linens and fun, unique patterns.
