A Pink Bunny Nursery with Target & Emily Henderson

Pink Bunny Nursery for a Baby Girl

A few weeks ago we shared our fun, modern playroom we worked on with Target and Emily Henderson. When Emily first came over to check out our space, she noticed I hadn’t even begun to design our nursery yet and our sweet Dakota was due in a few weeks so she offered to help design the nursery as well. I loved designing our first daughter’s nursery, but with my crazy schedule the past few months that included a move and site redesign, I just didn’t have time for another project – plus, when one of your favorite designers offers to design a room in your home, you say YES!

First things first. This room was a lot smaller than the nursery we designed for Sienna at our previous house, so we quickly decided we’d need a new smaller crib, dresser and chair as our old furniture was a bit overwhelming in the space. Once again, we partnered with Target for this room as they have so many great pieces for a nursery! I love that their pieces are modern in design and very affordable.

The heart pouf from Oh Joy’s Target collection is one of my favorite details. An unexpected bonus for us, the pouf is the perfect size for big sis to stand on to help when I’m changing Dakota’s diapers. Win win on the pouf! :)

Ok, let’s talk about that bunny wallpaper! This adorable Leaping Bunnies wallpaper from Chasing Paper was our inspiration for the rest of the room design. We originally talked about one accent wall, but then Emily suggested the whole room and I said why not?! I just LOVE the illustration and thought it would make the room so sweet.

And the best part about the wallpaper (after that adorable pattern)? It’s actually removable (!!!) so this was perfect for us since we plan to turn this room into the guest room once Dakota graduates to a big girl bed and moves upstairs by her sister. Chasing Paper has lots of fun prints + designs and I this would be so perfect in your own home – esp if you rent and would love the look of wallpaper in a room.  :)

Since we have space for a playroom upstairs this time around, we wanted to keep the nursery open, but with some shelving for stuffed animals, swaddles, books and a few cute pieces to display like her adorable Freshly Picked moccasins – I mean rose gold moccasins are too cute to put in a drawer, right?! :)

And be sure to watch this super cute film by Scrunch Media that shows more of the behind the scenes and the completed room.

Big thanks again to Emily and her team for creating the sweetest nursery for our little Dakota. It really is so bright and cheery and it makes me smile on those days when Dakota is being a tad bit fussy! Thanks also to our personal fave Target for this amazing opportunity, we’re in a Target at least once every other week to pick something up and Sienna reminds us of this fun project on each visit…..and wonder’s where Emily could be hiding! And be sure to head over to Emily’s site today as well to see even more from the makeover!
