A Palm Springs Wedding with Good Vibes and a Bold Black, Yellow and Pink Color Palette

Ace Hotel Palm Springs Wedding

Let the good vibes roll! We’ve got a fun one today that’s full of color, mid-century modern details, great bride and groom style and the best dance moves we’ve ever seen! We’re talking about Chelsea and Kevin’s Palm Springs wedding at The ACE Hotel Palm Springs! From the very beginning, C+K knew they wanted their day to be a laid-back affair where the number one goal was to have all of their friends and family in one place for a big celebration. Together with event designers Hello Gem, they planned a retro meets Art Deco party with vibrant flowers, modern wedding party attire, a GWS x Lover’s Society wedding dress, a pink and yellow color palette and striking black details. These two know how to have a good time!

C+K’s wedding photographer, Jenn Emerling had this to say about the rad couple and their special day:

Chelsea and Kevin are anything but boring, in fact, they might be the coolest, most fun couple we’ve worked with. The ACE Hotel Palm Springs was absolutely the perfect blank slate for their vision of a modern and colorful celebration, which prioritized endless dancing and good vibes. We loved the juxtaposition of the black tapers, glassware and flatware with such bold yellow and pink accents throughout the florals. The color choices worked perfectly with the amazing Laura Berger mural onsite- it was like a match made in heaven. Hello Gem also created these warm, desert colored art deco inspired arches for their backdrop and signage.

Get ready to soak up the good vibes in the adorable images below! Let’s go!

Lovers Society Wyatt Dress

You guys know we get giddy when we get to feature a bride that’s wearing one of our GWS x Lover’s Society gowns! C is wearing the GWS x Lovers Society ‘Wyatt’ gown and we have to say… she looks absolutely stunning! Here’s what she had to say about the search for the perfect gown!

I went wedding dress shopping 13 months prior to the wedding when my Mom was visiting from out of town. We hadn’t planned on finding a dress that early on, but one of the last dresses I tried on was at Lovely Bride in San Francisco and I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I knew we weren’t going to have a formal black tie wedding, that our vibe would be more chic and laidback in Palm Springs, so the GWS x Lovers Society Wyatt gown was the perfect classic silhouette with a modern twist. I loved the low back with scalloped details, braided/rope trim and the mix of all-white crepe and just a little lace. It hugged me in all the right places, but was also super comfortable to wear all day and night. I opted out of wearing a traditional veil to let the dress shine on its own.

Palm Springs Wedding Florals

C+K had the perfect combination of minimal and stylized flowers and well as lush and overflowing designs. Protea and anthurium, with their funky lines and textures, have a very mid-century modern aesthetic to them. When paired with the Art Deco lines of the arched signage that Hello Gem created, they make for the best combination of design styles!

Ace Hotel Palm Springs Wedding

A common concern couples have on wedding day is trying to divide time so they can enjoy the day while still greeting, mingling and thanking friends and family. C+K had a unique take on this problem and a great solution to how they solved it!

We did a destination wedding because we wanted to spend our time at the wedding on the dance floor and didn’t want to have anxiety about making sure we were catching up with everyone when we only had a few hours for the fun after the ceremony. We used the two days leading up to the wedding to catch up with all of our guests so that when it came to the wedding, everyone was able to throw down properly and felt like we had been together again forever.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Hire a wedding coordinator/planner. The girls from Hello Gem made our lives so much easier and made the wedding look beautiful. We didn't sweat/worry about any of the details leading up to the day, because we felt like we could trust them. Also, relax and do everything you want to do. This is the one (hopefully) time you will do this- so who cares what everyone else thinks? They are there for YOU! Spend money on great photographers and videographers. The day flies by so fast that they will capture all of the happiness, excitement, and love that transpires on that day. Jenn Emerling (photographer) and Aaron Kessinger (Shark Pig- Videographer) were amazing.
