A Lush Industrial Wedding Where Modern Meets Classic

Lush Industrial Canadian Wedding

When high school sweethearts, Jenna and Robbie, starting planning their wedding, they knew they wanted it to be chic and modern, but to still have those classic wedding touches. With the help of event designers, Blush & Bowties, they planned one jaw-dropping and lush industrial wedding at the Fermenting Cellars in Toronto, Canada. An organic and overgrown aisle and ceremony installation of flowers framed the couple as they said their vows, and then they danced the night away under chandeliers and hanging gold greenery. Their wedding is all things warm, luxe and romantic!

Here’s what J told us about making their day all their own: I took lots of inspiration from Australia. I researched a lot of wedding decor from Australia and ended up sourcing some signs from there. Robbie and I wanted our wedding to be unique, romantic and whimsical, with plenty of candlelight and dramatic flowers around the venue and ceremony. We added little personal touches to our venue to add a connection. We named our signature drink “The Tyson” after our dog and added a “wedding of the past” section using our family’s wedding photos.

Mango Studios captured every stunning moment! Ready to take a look? Let’s go!

Garden Meets Industrial Wedding

J’s Rue De Seine from Lovers Land had unique details in both front and back- a sexy slit and and elegant train! Here’s what she shared with us about her search for the perfect dress:

When finding my dress I knew I wasn’t a traditional bride and wanted something simple but still bridal. I only went to two stores and tried on 6 dresses before I found the one. At the second store, once I put on my dress they told me how the dress is made by a designer in New Zealand. My grandma looked right at me and said she and my late grandfather traveled to New Zealand and it was one of their favourite trips together. As soon as she told me that I knew that this was the perfect dress for my wedding. It gave me a connection to my grandfather and seeing the look at my grandma’s face was perfection.

Talk about WOW! White Oak created this dreamy ceremony set up featuring loads of smokebush and dainty white blooms. Blush & Bowties described the scene:

The clay toned textured ceremony wall was adorned with growing lush florals and foliage in earthy tones. The aisle was accented with creative and wild arrangements. Jenna had asked for specifically for fluffy varieties of florals which Jordana absolutely delivered!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most memorable part of our day was right after our ceremony was finished, my husband and I walked into the reception area just the two of us to take in the day and look at the vision our wedding planner and florist created. Our wedding planner suggested we take time just the two of us throughout the night and I couldn't have agreed more with this idea.

Glittering Industrial Wedding Reception

Lush Industrial Canadian Wedding

All that glitters is gold and J + R’s industrial wedding reception had plenty of gilded accents! Contemporary Furniture Rentals provided the rustic tables and ghost chairs, Plate Occasions dressed the tables up with gold flatware and sleek settings, while The Linen Closet provided soft gauze runners and napkins!

We love how Blush & Bowties described the reception space:

Earthy textures and tones were incorporated into their tablescape which included wooden harvest tables, crystal glassware, gold flatware, detailed ceramic chargers, and soft gauze napkins. We kept the vibe chic and clean with mirage chairs and ceramic candle holders. One of my favorite touches was the delicate hanging golden foliage. The celebration felt elevated and vibrant but still welcoming.

Hanging Greens and Rad Signage

Nothing says romance like a hanging installation over the reception space! These gilded greens are so fresh, modern and intriguing! They go perfectly against the worn walls of the industrial wedding venue.

Sketch and Etch never disappoints when it comes to fun signage! This laser-cut, mirrored sign brings the modern to a super romantic setup! And if you love those mirrors (I mean they are GORGE!!) we found them in a few sizes here – would be perfect to use in your home after the wedding!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Creating a list of priorities is very important. We sat down and made a list of the top aspects we wanted for our day. Create a vision board. Our wedding planner helped create a beautiful vision board. It was a good way to source our inspiration for the day. Don't rush when planning. We took our time meeting with venues and photographers until we found the one that felt right for us. The most important thing we looked for when planning was having an "on-site" wedding location. We had our ceremony and reception at one location and it made our planning process a lot easier and better for our guests only having one location.
