Happy Monday to all our adventuring lovin’ readers! We’re SO thrilled to be taking you on a grand tour of the globe… for this week, we’re going around the world! Yup, GWS is going international, baby! We’ll be featuring some of the most magical weddings, elopements, and styled shoots from places all around the world. Including some never before seen locations on GWS (like today’s wedding!), as well as some fun twists on some of your favorite locations. Without further adieu, let’s get this adventure going!
Can you pinpoint the country of Georgia on a world map? It’s right above Turkey, to the right of the black sea, and just south of Western Russia. The country is at the intersection of Europe + Asia, and thus has a really fascinating cross-cultural architecture, traditions, and fashions. On top of that, it’s home to Caucasus Mountain villages, along with lovely Black Sea beaches. Kicking off our GWS tour around the world, is a place that we’ve never been before… and we’re so excited to share it with you: Kazbegi, Georgia!
Khatia + Andrew are from Moscow and dreamt of having an unforgettable + intimate wedding in the mountains of Georgia. With their eyes set on an ancient Christian temple (high up in the snowy mountains), they ventured with Mandarini Wedding + their photographer, Jane of ISKRA Photography.
Ready to take the grand tour?
HOLY SMOKES. Doesn’t this look like it’s straight out of a fairytale?
Khatia shares: Living in the big city like Moscow, we were dreaming of spending our BIG DAY in the wild nature. The place that astonished and impressed us the most were the mountains. That’s why we decided to celebrate our wedding in the gorgeous mountains of Georgia. We chose this beautiful country for its eternal beauty and decided to make our ceremony in the ancient Christian church.
How absolutely darling (and stylish!) are these two? Khatia’s rocking a modern custom-crafted gown by Marina Prokopenko, while Andrew’s attire is from Suit Supply.
One of the best highlights of our wedding day was the moment when the light came inside the very dark and atmospheric temple. Everyone was very impressed but the beauty of the moment!
SO MUCH JOY!
We wanted our wedding to be light, stylish, and eco-friendly, with the main color palette consisting of green and white.
The photographer shares: the ceremony took place in the ancient Christian temple… at the height of 2170 meters! We got there the only way that exists: using big lifted jeeps. Several times we were even above the clouds! The whole wedding was a true miracle!
Is this breathtaking, or what?
Seriously CANNOT get over their glamorous get-ups! That incredible hairpiece K is wearing is by Mziko Kalandadze. Want to wear a similar style? Here are a few of our picks:
Bringing in their love of nature, K+A had a seating chart with darling botanical illustrations.
Being well-prepared for the wedding is really obligatory. We started our preparations very early, but we were very lucky to find our photographers comparably late. Anyway, it was a huge luck, because they saved every precious moment of our wedding day for our future children. I'm absolutely sure that it's very important to save this for years.
What a way to kick off our International Week, right?!
გილოცავ, (congratulations in Georgian), Khatia + Andrew!
