Boho brides, get excited! Ashley, the designer and co-owner Daughters of Simone, sent over the most gorgeous wedding celebration between her dear friends, Matt + Carolyn to share! (In case you don’t know, DOS is one of our go-to’s for bohemian + vintage-inspired wedding gowns!) M + C pulled off the glamping wedding to rule them all at Wild Iris Retreat, and when you combine that with fab fashion? Consider us obsessed. The beautiful bride, Carolyn, shared inspiration behind the weekend:
Matt and I have spent most of our favorite weekends camping in Anderson Valley and always knew we wanted to get married there. We love throwing campfire dinner parties under the redwoods with our friends and wanted to recreate our favorite memories for our wedding guests. We decided not to use any color and focus on things natural to the area: redwood, ferns, and wildflowers. We built a DIY glamping retreat for our wedding party, spent the night before the wedding roasting s’mores and telling stories around the campfire, and had a silent disco dance party in the forest to close out the wedding night.
Lucille Lawrence was on hand to capture all the fun details! Let’s have a look!
Carolyn got ready in a Daughters of Simone Isla Jumper while the gals wrapped up in custom robes.
The Custom Dress
Hello, gorgeous! When one of your bridesmaids in a wedding dress designer, no detail is out of question!
As for the invitations, Carolyn didn’t have to look too far—she designed her own! Loooving this vintage botanic print.
The Bridal Party
Those pretty bouquets are the handiwork of B-Side Farm & Floral Design!
Carolyn hand painted these cute wooden signs all across the campsite!
Each girl wore a Daughters of Simone gown, sans trains! How fun is that? We spot a few favorites…like the Magnolia and Warwick!

The Ceremony
Writing our own wedding ceremony was very important to us and we asked Matt’s sister to officiate, which made it even more special. While we wrote and planned everything together, we kept one thing a secret: our love notes that we read to each other as wedding vows. Giving and receiving such an epic profession of love in our favorite place while feeling all the support from our friends and family around us was the most incredible moment of the my life.
Processional: Wild Horses by Rolling Stones
Recessional: This Must Be The Place by Talking Heads
First Dance: All My Life by K-Ci & JoJo
Yay!
The Reception
Can you imagine dining + dancing surrounded by those gorgeous redwoods? Amazing!
It’s never too early to start planning. Talk with your partner about how to create a day where everyone will say, “That’s so them!” and do just that. Spend as much time as you can leading up to your wedding day bonding with your bridesmaids and talking with your partner about what marriage means to you and how you want to live your life together.
SO sweet, these too. And Sam Bauman captured the best parts of the day in the video below!
All our congrats to M + C!
