This elopement in Italy is about to transport you to another world! Between the dreamy photographs, misty views, flowing layers of the wedding dress and the raw and passionate romance between this couple, we guarantee you’re going to audibly oooh and ahhh. Lisa + Leo wanted their vow exchange to be solely about them, their love story, and the things they enjoy doing with each other. It was serene and slow without any stress at all. After an afternoon of Dolce Far Niente, they headed out to the seaside of the Venice Lagoon to promise forever and steal our hearts along the way. They share:
We wanted to enjoy every single moment of our day. Our overall idea was to keep it nice and easy – an experience dedicated to us only, somewhere we would have never been before. So we rented a beautiful villa to spend some time together, filling the day with simple things, as playing music, reading, dancing, enjoy slow moments together with no rush.
We get a peek at the magic thanks to The Ferros. Scroll along with us and enjoy!
Dolce Far Niente
Dolce Far Niente translates to “the sweetness of doing nothing”. It’s a piece of the Italian lifestyle that says still moments of quiet and peaceful things are important, and should be enjoyed often. This is exactly what L + L did on the afternoon before their elopement. L played a newly composed song on her violin, they danced, they drank, they got ready together, and they took things slow.
We’re in love with L’s satin Le Fate Di Milano getting ready robe. It definitely has that Old Hollywood aesthetic.
Nicole, of The Ferros, shared the sweetest detail from L + L’s elopement in Italy:
Leo is a young and talented goldsmith – we were amazed by his mastery while creating a ring for Lisa, as a surprise for their elopement. He wanted to make something special for her, a unique piece.

L looked so handsome in his Isaac DeWhirst attire!
Beach Elopement in Italy
The ceremony has been one of the most unexpectedly emotional moments, as we are both quite reserved. We exchanged vows in a quiet bay, we also were lucky enough to witness some of the best sunsets ever seen! It has actually been the most emotional thing I could ever expect to be… Especially when Leo pulled out a handmade ring he has designed for me. I was speechless.
L + L shared intimate and emotional vows, just the two of them. If you’re wanting to write your own vows, follow our vow free template to help get you started.
This gown by Le Fate Di Milano is as soft as the sea! The layers of tulle are pure magic.
Being a very intimate kind of wedding, we didn’t want to stress about the planning process. So we decided to take it in the easiest possible way, focusing only on the things that mattered the most to us, which was the location, the dress (mine, as a bride!) and the photography!
L’s beautiful ring, crafted with so much love.
From the photographer:
Having this intimate elopement was such a special experience. Completely immersed in the things and the places you love the most. Lisa and Leo decided to dedicate it to themselves, celebrating their feelings while exchanging their vows in a secret and quiet bay. The whole atmosphere was magical: the sound of water was like the sweetest lullaby, the last rays of sunlight slowly leaving their place to the shy moon. Everything was just in its right place…
From L + L:
We actually would like to give a big shoutout to our both photographers and dress designers. We loved and had great fun with our super talented photographers Nico and Vinx aka The Ferros and loved so much both of my dresses (the vest I’ve used indoor and the dress outdress) from the lovely Le fate di Milano.
We’re left speechless. If this day doesn’t make you want to start planning an elopement in Italy, we don’t know what will! Give us ALL the moody and romantic vibes! Congratulations Lisa + Leo, your day was breathtaking.
