She was working in Lebanon when a job opportunity popped up in the Cayman Islands. He was in Denver, wondering where his next step would lead, when a friend offered him a 3-month position in…yep, the Cayman Islands. Cynthia + Jordan didn’t know what was waiting for them there in that magical place, but Cynthia describes it this way: Quit your job, buy a ticket, get a tan, fall in love, never return. Pretty much my story.
Their desert wedding found them in Utah, under the starry sky with friends and family all gathered to celebrate their union! Here’s more from Cynthia:
We created a wedding that is truly a reflection of us. Easy going, informal, non-traditional, adventurous, wild and free-spirited. Since we are so passionate about people and what we do, we wanted an experience to encapsulate that. It was a glamping desert wedding weekend festival, gathering the people dearest to our hearts from around the world at Under Canvas Moab in the middle of the rose gold desert. Everything felt so natural, unique, dreamy and intimate.

Cynthia designed + planned the day herself, but turned to Beet & Yarrow to create some magical floral arrangements that paired perfectly with a glamping desert wedding.
Ceremony with a View

It didn't hit me until 10 minutes before the wedding ceremony. I'm so emotional—everyone who knows me knew that I would ugly cry start to finish. I was waiting in my own tent to walk down the aisle and I tried the inhale-exhale technique, but it didn't work. I worried I wouldn't be able to say my vows through tears, so I asked the wedding coordinator to get me some booze! As the guests entered the ceremony site they heard, "Urgent. Bottle of booze for the bride tent 10 NOW!" It was hilarious. They got me some whiskey, which I don't drink so I didn't know how strong it was. I had nearly 3 shots! Thankfully I wasn't drunk (just a bit tipsy). Happy to be fully present and surprisingly (to myself and everyone else) without any tears!

Once you get to the wedding day or weekend, forget about all planning. Try to enjoy every second of it. Planning is a long process but the wedding itself is SO quick. Seize every moment and don't get overwhelmed making it all look perfect. What's most important is you and your other half.
