Here’s a wedding totally saturated with color, tropical details and charm! And, if you ever thought a monstera leaf had no place in a barn, we’re here to prove you wrong, folks. Julie + Tom’s wedding was a celebration of their story, with details of their lives together creatively sprinkled throughout…so quintessentially them.
Julie shares: The goal for our late-summer wedding in Hudson, NY was to create a super fun, intimate celebration for our 110 guests. We loved the idea of starting with a raw space because it allowed us to add our personalities to the breathtaking beauty of the Hudson Valley. Inspired by our global travels, my Indian/Thai heritage (think COLOR!), and Tom’s “magical” proposal (he proposed with a card trick), we designed a wedding that screamed Tom + Julie.
Pat Furey Photography captured all the sunny details!
If the invitations by Gubba Gumma signify anything, it’s that this wedding is going to be fun.
Tom, ready to go in Ted Baker!
Julia looked simply divine in Limor Rosen‘s Aria gown.
Rye Workshop created all the florals for the day, from this happy bouquet to the gorgeous ceremony + reception designs.
The couple wed at beautiful Oak Hill, a Livingston family mansion in New York’s Hunter Valley.
They added pops of color by wrapping trees in papier-mâché–so fun!
Moroccan rugs rand down the aisle, all the way up to the palm + monstera leaf backdrop!
This backdrop would be so fun for a tropical-inspired wedding or even a summer photo booth, right? Make it last with these faux leaves!
These two are so sweet!
Yay!
It’s all in the details: curated cocktails menus written on tropical leaves!
Let’s go on a living spree…
J + T walked down the aisle to “Good Life” by Kanye West after the ceremony and incorporated the lyrics on signs throughout the venue.
The Rose & Dale airstream photo booth was parked outside the barn, adorned with more colorful details!
Choose your vendors based on their portfolios and their personalities; liking the team you put together makes the process that much more fun!
Rye Workshop designed the monstera leaf table runners + hanging flower planters in the barn, while Broadway Party Rentals provided the tabletop goods + Patina Rentals brought in the furniture.
One of J + T’s favorite details? A roving magician during cocktail hour + the neon “In Pursuit of Magic” sign lighting up the barn!
Beautiful…love this shot!
So good looking, you two! Wishing all our congrats to the happy couple from all of us at GWS!
