The night before the big day: a bride-to-be in a red dress and sparkly heels. Turquoise, blush pink, hints of gold and silver all coming together in a colorful wonderland. Lollies, licorice, chocolate, suckers. Sweet childhood memories wrapped in chic evening elegance…The concept behind this Candy Land styled wedding rehearsal dinner is to inspire couples to relax, let loose and partake in a memorable pre-party with their wedding party that truly showcases their personalities just before their big day. The rehearsal dinner is a place to get away with throwing almost any type of party – even a full on Candy Land theme inspired by a favorite childhood memory! There are many DIY elements throughout this Candy Land styled photo shoot that are easily attainable and can transition from the rehearsal dinner into the wedding day, like the felt poinsettias and tissue paper peonies bouquet. Additionally, the pom pom ornaments that were tied to the back of the chairs could be lined down the aisle for the wedding. Thanks so much to Miriam from Miriam Corona Events who dreamt up this shoot and to Lukas VanDyke Photography for the lovely photos!
Loving the felt poinsettias designed by Primary Petals and the pretty plates from The Vintage Table Co.
Candy bars, dessert bars and drink stations can be completely personalized with the couples favorite candies, desserts and signature drinks. In this case, old-fashioned candies were carefully hand-picked to represent each of the Candy Land characters. There is also a peppermint hot cocoa bar with a marshmallow backdrop to give the rehearsal dinner party a holiday feel. Mixing chic design elements together like the turquoise wall, blush pink linens, gold chairs and flatware, vintage dresser and vintage place settings creates a real-life Candy Land ambiance that is both meaningful and best represents the couple’s styles. The rehearsal dinner was designed to be as realistic as possible and yet still evoke the happy feel and style of the Candy Land board game – who doesn’t love that!

My dog, Animal, is half jack russel and half yorkie-poodle. I thought like to say she is 100% teddy bear. Seriously the best dog ever!
