Izzy + Tony met almost 5 years ago at a bar on Sunset Boulevard; several years later they got engaged at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles — needless to say, they love a good party and all things modern! As Tony’s family is from Southern California, and Izzy’s from the Bay Area, they wanted to find a venue somewhere in the middle. Though they had never been to Santa Ynez, they were drawn to the sweeping mountains… the moment they stumbled upon the brand new Kestrel Park, they KNEW it was the place.
Izzy shares a little about the design of the day: The moment you entered the wedding, you were transported to another world. Our florist, Jenn Sanchez, created a wicked alter that came up from the ground, with textured whites and greens and we kept the chairs and other florals really simple. Once the ceremony was over, guests snuck through a tiny door that spit them into a secret garden – seriously. Hundreds of different flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees were tucked away inside the venue, and Vanessa Noel Events made sure everything was just how we imagined it. While everything was very natural, they brought the luxe details of a black tie affair to the outdoors: neon signs, loads of marble, and pretty acrylic pieces.
Ready to be transported to another world? Let’s peep at the photos snapped by Lauren Scotti Photography!
It’s all in the details, darling… We’re particularly fond of the watercolor elements + the swooping script The Lefty Lady created!
The First Look
How cute are they?!
Hidden away in Santa Barbara’s countryside, the house and grounds of Kestrel Park are seriously SPECTACULAR. I mean, would you look at all those florals + that 19th century-style English country house? LOVE!
Is there anything sweeter than a Frenchie in a tux?
The Ceremony Space
Sycamore trees lined the ceremony space, and lush floral arrangements perfectly framed all the farmhouse-inspired chairs from Party Pleasers.
SO GOOD. Florist Jenn Sanchez is a genius.
Hands down, our vows. From the second I could spot Tony down the long aisle, we didn’t break eye contact once. I could feel him throughout the entire ceremony and we could even hear the wind in the trees. I get chills thinking about it, but being able to stand up and pour your heart and soul out in front of your friends and family is scary but in the end, it’s just you and your person!
The second would be us surprising all our guests with a saxophonist... we kept it a secret from EVERYONE and during the night, we had him come out to our favorite house songs, he definitely was a highlight of the night! Everyone made it out to the dance floor to sing and dance along with us.
The Wedding Party
How stunning is this bunch? We told you, they truly brought the black tie affair outdoors!
So, so sharp. Tony rocked a J.Crew suit with sleek kicks from ASOS.
All the ladies looked like goddesses in their maxi black dresses from an array of different places: Show Me Your Mumu + Reformation were a definite fave.
The Dress
Izzy was an absolute DREAM in her sleek + beaded Bo & Luca ‘Cannes’ from LOHO Bride.
The Newlyweds
Can’t get over how magical this is!!
Hold that pose! Okay, talk about GLAM. How epic is this Vanity Fair-inspired wedding party shot?
Our two favorite elements of the evening were our Bar Menu, which had a cocktail named after our dog, Carl (who was also our ring bearer) and then our “till death do us part” sign. We kept the sign and it’s going up in our living room!
Cocktail Hour + Lounge
We incorporated as much velvet, marble, brass, and silver that we could – and the outcome was unreal! Tony and I searched around as many flea markets we could find to add some awesome vintage elements to the lounge.
Isn’t that escort sign by BASH Calligraphy unreal?! We’re big, big fans of white on acrylic!
The Dinner Party
Ooh la la to all that marble! Oh and the place cards + menus? Hand-painted by The Lefty Lady!

On the back of our chairs were custom jean jackets my bosses made me from FRAME Denim – they were a labor of love and something that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We loved getting to party in them, too!
Holy moly! So simple, yet so striking!! This gorgeous confectionary masterpiece is by none other than Frost It Cakery.
Processional: Sea of Love by Cat Powers
Recessional: We Found Love by Calvin Harris & Rihanna
First Dance: I Found You by Alabama Shakes
Try to make every moment of planning special, but don’t overwhelm yourself. It’s so easy to get caught up in the check list of planning a wedding and go down an Instagram spiral, but sitting down on the couch with a glass of wine with your partner and jamming out to your future wedding playlist is REALLY fun! Try to make the most of the planning process, you will definitely miss it when it’s gone!
Find a planner that is a reflection of you and your personal style. Finding Vanessa was fate and throughout the entire process she felt like a friend to us, giving advice when she needed, giving recommendations when we asked but in the end, cheering and laughing along with us the entire night! Having a planner you love and trust makes the entire day stress free. She also recommended vendors that she worked with and everything just fell into place.
A few parting words from Izzy: EVERYONE says it, but the day flies by – take time to do all the cheesy things you never thought you’d do, write your parents thank you notes, dance with your girls to your favorite Taylor Swift song and drink a lot of champagne – the memories will all be worth it!
How absolutely ADORABLE are these two?! For more, check out this clip of their black tie affair, captured by Andrew James Abajian.
