Rubén + Fernando pulled together a rainbow of color to celebrate their 10th Anniversary and the results? PURE MAGIC. When they began to plan the day, they knew they wanted to make something unique, surprising and wow-worthy. R + F, who own an event planning company called El Mono con Sombrero, put together a night inspired by the Pantone color wheel. With sparkling lighting, fun attire, a live tattoo artist, cake and ice cream, their celebration at Costa da Morte, Spain is one for the books!
Here’s what R shared about the inspiration:
When we decided to have a great party to celebrate our 10 years of marriage and renew the vows, we had many doubts about how and where the celebration would be. The only thing we knew was that color would be the protagonist, so the theme had to be “Pantone”. The first thing was to make the guests our accomplices by passing them a color chart to choose their color for the event; Two rules, the color could not be repeated and had to go in order. We thought it would be much more complicated, but our guests know us and immediately wanted to be part of our madness.
You’ll be in awe of the images that Ahr Photos captured! Let’s take a look!
A Coastal Celebration
R + F were so dedicated to surprising their guests that they didn’t even reveal the location of their party until guests were on the way! Here’s how they pulled off this fun detail:
Another of the things we had quite clear was the element of surprise. Nobody knew where or how, they only knew when. When we invited them, they only received the event logo next to a QR code that gave coordinates, date and time. On the day, they were picked up by a bus at two different points of Galicia, during the journey (since it lasted more than two and a half hours!) they watched films of the gremlins, and ate popcorn and sweets. Throughout the trip, magician Yago Barral offered the guests fun shows.
Guest donned attire in their chosen color and the result is sooo rad!
10 Years Plus Forever
A Rainbow of Guests
It took a lot of guest coordination, but how amazing is the outcome of having each guest wear a different Pantone color?! Total GOALS!
A Colorful Reception
R + F created so many amazing guest experiences for their anniversary reception. An eclectic mix of decor, intimate lighting, amazing food and lots of celebration were the focus.
Inside we played with different spaces and environments, tropical plants and bamboo chill out areas, industrial tables and compositions of lights and candles loaded with colors and flowers. The first part of the menu were thematic tables (Asian, cheeses, flavors of the world, Galician, etc.) accompanied by a variety of snacks. The stars were the shellfish in different preparations: oysters, razors, clams, cockles … all paired with a perfect choice of wines and our favorite Aperol Spritz!
We’re absolutely loving this colorful “lucky cat” escort card display! Are you loving the rainbow theme of this anniversary celebration? You’ve got to see more rainbow ideas here!
Flowers + Lighting
Jukebox Productions draped the welcome teepee and reception dinner in amazing lighting including fairy lights and Edison bulbs.
Guests found their seats using this incredible ombré floral installation. They found their coordinating color and that’s where they were seated! So fun!
Los Platos de Pan provided these adorable Pantone color wheel plates for each guest!
Eclectic and Cool
Ruben Gonzalez Vallejo of the Cafetín de Pontevedra, said from the first moment that we could not be the only ones missing surprises the day. He made each dish a different color and no name revealed what it was. With each pass we did not leave our astonishment, rose, green… It was a perfect harmony between ingredients and presentation.
Sémola was in charge of dessert and for our day, prepared a sweet table with the Pantone theme. It was loaded with colors, textures and especially flavor, three cakes each of a chromatic range accompanied of their minidonuts, nuages and cookies.
How cute are these Pantone color cookies?!
What. A. Celebration!! If this is what 10 years brings, we can’t wait to see Rubén + Fernando’s 50th anniversary! Thank you for sharing this rainbow of Pantone color, food, and fun with us! The GWS team is wishing you guys many more years of love and happiness!
