Robin’s egg blue next to saddle brown. On a mood board it sounds like a nursery; on the veranda at Abbott Mansion, with a bronze satin curtain parted over a painted woodland, it reads like the wall of a hunt club. The equestrian theme shows up in the materials: leather browns, big-sky blues, and not a horseshoe in sight.
Abbott Mansion is one of Georgia’s newest venues, a white-columned house in Cleveland with open pasture and horses on the grounds, and this is one of the first editorials produced there. The Finer Side planned and designed it, River Wild Photography shot it, and instead of booking models, the team cast a real married couple, Charlie and Taylor, as the bride and groom.
Let’s Start With the Paper
Mabel and Joy skipped the horseshoes and went straight to oil paint. Each table number is an equestrian landscape, the kind of canvas you’d hang over a mantel, with the numeral written across it in translucent white script. The rest of the suite plays it formal: a black envelope hand-lettered in white, vintage portrait stamps, a vellum reply card sealed in gold wax, and a marble-textured details card for the welcome dinner and accommodations.
Then the fun part, personalized matchboxes stamped with the same gold medallion as the wax seal. A personalized matchbox is such an easy favor to steal.
The Getting-Ready Look
The getting-ready portrait usually means a satin robe and a glass of champagne. The Finer Side swapped it for a white lace piece with a high mock neck, long sleeves, and a ruffled hem, worn open over shorts with a fine gold anklet, so it moves and photographs like a dress rather than a layer you take off. Makeup by Riley Jaye stays clean and warm against all that lace.
Abbott Mansion’s dressing room barely needs styling. Pale gold chinoiserie paper covers the walls, all birds and branches, and two arched gold mirrors and brass sconces do the rest. The powder-blue tufted ottoman is where the robin’s egg palette starts, and a cream and gold rotary phone sits on the vanity. If your venue has a room like this, get ready in it.

The Ceremony
The ceremony was set on the covered veranda, all white columns, wrought-iron candelabra chandeliers, and a grey and white diamond-pattern stone floor. Heya Designs hung heavy swags of bronze satin and parted them into an oval around a painted woodland path, basically an old sporting painting in a satin frame.
Stems Atlanta kept every flower at ground level, no arch, no pedestals. Tall grasses, ferns, white allium, cream calla lilies, and dried hydrangea the color of hay ring a low circular stage like a little pasture, and keeping it low means nothing blocks the mural. The honey cross-back chairs curve around the stage in loose arcs, so from above the whole ceremony reads as one circle. That’s why the overhead shots are so good.
The Reception Table
Out on the stone terrace, the blue takes over. I Do Linens dressed the round table in soft slate blue, and the bronze satin from the ceremony comes back as a runner that spills off the end of the table and pools on the stone, with the florals trailing right behind it.
Reusing the fabric is an easy, smart way to tie the ceremony and reception together. The team described the look as “sophisticated, layered, and effortlessly inviting,” and the layers are everywhere: satin over linen, wild grass over crystal, moss beneath the tapers.
From above, the round table looks like a clock face, twelve chairs throwing long shadows across the tiled patio. Up close, it’s all in the mix: chocolate brown napkins on white plates, gold flatware, and crystal goblets with a hint of blue at the stem next to faceted tumblers.
The Hat Bar
This is where the equestrian theme goes a little western. Stars Hat & Jewelry Bar lined rustic planks at the edge of the patio with wide-brim felt hats in brown, black, cream, and tan, and guests picked their favorite and had it personalized on the spot. It’s a favor and a photo op in one, and every guest goes home with something they’ll actually wear again.
