“Color, color, and more color!”
That’s what bride Hannah says when you ask what inspired the design of her deliciously vibrant Arizona wedding to groom Adam.
There’s a juicy trend in wedding flowers at the moment: featuring fresh fruits + vegetables in your floral arrangements to make the whole event feel opulent, abundant. We love it so much that we wrote “The Case for Putting Fruit on Your Wedding Tables.”
But Hannah + Adam’s “I do’s” at El Chorro Lodge in Paradise Valley, AZ went way beyond trend into something more substantial. Delicious, color-rich details and the community inherent in sharing a meal together were the aesthetic anchors of their entire day.
How did they pick which fruits + veggies would be the design’s focal point? “I LOVE the color red, and I’m obsessed with strawberries and tomatoes,” says Hannah. “The box that Adam proposed with was actually the shape of a strawberry, and he turned it into a ring case.”
So spicy tomato reds and strawberry-coded scarlets set the tone along with bright golden yellows the color of crunchy peppers. And we are obsessed with the charming black + white gingham details that balanced the whole reception design, giving it all a playful picnic or romantic restaurant atmosphere.
“I knew I wanted to bring a vegetable feel and restaurant vibe to the wedding since Adam and I spend way too much time cooking (a huge passion for both of us) and going out to eat at all the high and low brow places the world has to offer!” Hannah says of how the couple’s culinary interests inspired the celebration.
Planners from Your Jubilee pulled together an event we can’t stop savoring. The ceremony bloomed brightly against the dreamy desert landscape. The restaurant-inspired reception had its own hostess stand. A dress code of reds, yellows, oranges, and pinks made the day’s color world pop. And The Shepards caught it all on camera.

“One of my closest friends is the most spectacular wedding stationer, and she designed and handcrafted all our invites, wedding signage, and bar signage,” Hannah says of these darling hand-drawn paper goods by Emily Bairds Designs. “So that was very near and dear to my heart.”
“I wore a head-to-toe, hand-beaded dress from SAINT Bridal Couture that I bought at Lovely Bride,” Hannah shares. “I had my eye on something simple and flowy, but after trying on a few that my mom and friends didn’t love, I decided to ask my sales consultant if there was something beaded that I could maybe try. She came back with THE dress, and we all dropped our jaws when I tried it on.”

“Adam wanted to originally find a custom red velvet suit for the wedding, but after much debate about how much he would be sweating in that in the hot AZ sun, he opted for a simple but handsome black tuxedo from Suit Supply,” says Hannah of the practical weather-realted reasons why her hubby went for this timeless tux look.
The Ceremony
The Wildflowers AZ heard “rich, deep reds” and truly made floral magic happen. The gentle gradient design of these chuppah-climbing arrangements have us floored.
“The chuppah was the chuppah of my dreams,” Hannah shares. “We used Adam’s talis that he received at his own bar mitzvah when he was 13 as the roof of the chuppah.”

How did these two foodies find each other? “It started with a Hinge match and a scheduling puzzle,” the couple says. “Between Hannah’s globe-trotting work travel and Adam’s recent Navy assignment at the Washington Navy Yard — where he’d landed after tours on an aircraft carrier shuttling between the Atlantic and Norfolk, VA — finding a first date that worked took a couple of weeks of back-and-forth. Adam, a dentist in the Navy, had quietly put in his request for a next station with a little more social life. Washington, DC delivered.”
“Three weeks into city life, he came across Hannah’s profile. It was a match.”
“On July 27, 2022, the two met at Puttery, a mini indoor golf venue in DC — and the rest, as they say, is history. Their personalities were on full display from the start: Hannah, confident and assertive, went in for the first kiss; Adam kept her laughing the entire night.”
“Somewhere in the middle of their round, a couple ahead of them asked if they’d take a photo. After Hannah and Adam obliged, the couple turned the favor around. Adam’s response? ‘Sure — this will either be our first picture together or our last.’ Safe to say, it was their first.”
“The two have joked ever since that that evening also marked the first — and only — time Adam has ever beaten Hannah at a game in their entire relationship. Hannah will tell you she let him win. Adam doesn’t need to know that.”
Remembering the Proposal
“Two and a half years [after their first date] Adam orchestrated what Hannah believed was a casual cabin-and-hiking trip to the Shenandoah Mountains with friends driving in from Philadelphia,” say Hannah + Adam.
“When the friends ‘cancelled’ last minute, the two decided to go anyway. On the trail, Hannah nearly rolled her ankle within the first five minutes — sending Adam’s heart rate through the roof — but they pressed on. When the trees gave way to a sweeping view of the Shenandoah Valley, Adam got down on one knee.”
“Hannah doesn’t remember every word of what he said. But she remembers this: he told her he couldn’t think of a better person to rewatch the first six seasons of Grey’s Anatomy with for the rest of his life — and that he wanted to marry her. She said yes. Adam then whisked her away to The Inn at Little Washington for a spectacular dinner and a luxurious overnight stay. The following Sunday, they drove home to find their house filled with their closest family and friends — a surprise that left little doubt about just how thoughtful her future husband truly is.”
Cocktail Hour
“Our vendors went above and beyond,” Hannah remembers, “and I couldn’t stop drooling over our centerpieces — specifically the bar flower/vegetable arrangement.”

“Because I wanted the entire experience to pop with color, I kindly requested that all guests wear reds, yellows, oranges, and pinks to the wedding,” says Hannah of the warm + vibrant dress code.

The Reception
How cute is this: “Our wedding website was called Table For Two,” Hannah says, “and we had my two nieces and Adam’s little cousin actually be at our “hostess” stand with aprons and fake mustaches on to hand out our guests’ table numbers.”

Our Favorite Memory

Our Advice
