It’s spring fever meets technicolor fever dream. It’s a magical garden party gone full-blown maximalist. It’s tea with the Mad Hatter if Wonderland was actually a wedding.
There are a million-and-one ways to describe this colorful, flower-filled wedding editorial out of Texas, but we won’t waste too much time on that because you’ve got to see these pictures from Jafet Roman Photography!
“As a photographer, I’m always on the hunt for stories that challenge the traditional, and this styled shoot was a true creative gift,” Jafet says. “I felt deeply inspired by every bold choice the creative team made and knew immediately I had to be there to capture this vision.”
Planners + event designers from Épris Events, along with creative direction from Traveling Weddings, were behind so many of the “bold choices” Jafet describes. Utilizing both indoor and outdoor spaces at the beautiful Sandlewood Manor in Tomball, Texas, the team employed design tools like cascading drapery installations, immersive floral arrangements, imaginative fashion (like an iridescent wedding dress), and an eye-popping spring tone color palette to create a wedding aesthetic steeped in full-blown, fairytale-worthy whimsy.
This shoot gives the playfulness of Spring an elevated edge. This shoot translates romantic, maximalist daydreams into all-out color. And, as Jafet says: “This shoot proves that a wedding can be sophisticated and incredibly fun at the same time.”
A Springtime Ceremony

Those darling, densely floral wedding invites were created by Esperanza Atelier. And as for those wedding heels?? They’re the BROOKLYN Ivory Wedding Mules with Pearl Lined Bows from Bella Belle!

“The day began at the ceremony area, which felt like an editorial secret garden,” Jafet recounts.

“The bride wore a stunning iridescent silk gown by Honor NYC that featured a unique, pearlescent glow reflecting different tones as she moved through the light.”

“Matching that vibrant, organic energy, the groom wore a bold, colorful patterned jacket from Don Morphy that popped incredibly against the lush surroundings.”

“Mela Certe created incredible, grounded floral installations that appeared to grow right out of the estate’s lawns…”

“…all set against a theatrical backdrop of dramatic, flowing curtains from Reimagine HTX. It was the perfect stage for the couple’s first fashion statement.”

We are mesmerized by the sculptural complexity of this bridal updo by hair stylist Andrea Simmons!

Enchanted Elegance

“The fashion evolved into high-drama elegance,” Jafet says of the bride + groom’s first style vibe shift.

“The bride transitioned into a grand Esé Azénabor, featuring a spectacular, oversized sculptural flower,” Jafet explains, “while the groom swapped his colorful look for a classic black jacket for a more timeless, sophisticated feel.”

A Study in Maximalism

Yes, those are Labubus you’re clocking as part of the reception’s quirky matcha bar!! This was one of Jafet’s fave elements: “I especially loved the playful, modern touches like the “It’s a Match-a!” station where custom matcha drinks were paired with whimsical Labubu figures.”

“As the day progressed,” Jafet says, “we moved toward the stately backdrop of the estate.”

“By the time we reached the reception, the energy shifted into a full maximalist celebration.”

“The hand-painted napkins and fans by Épris Events served as thoughtful, bespoke touches that added distinct character to the space.”

“The tablescapes were a sensory feast, where colorful linens from Something Vintage were layered with fresh dragon fruit, oranges, and grapes.”

A Woodsy + Whimsical Wedding Cake

“Inside the house, the wedding cake provided a beautiful visual contrast,” Jafet remembers.

“Adorned with whimsical red mushrooms and displayed on a grand piano, the design stood out beautifully against the house’s classic architecture.”
Bridal Style In Bloom

Absolutely obsessed with the bold 3D florals and feathery details of this after party look by Naeem Khan.

“My advice for couples planning now is to treat your wedding like your own personal museum,” Jafet offers. “Curate it with the colors, fashion, and quirks that bring you genuine joy.”

“When you lean into your own personality, you create a day that is truly unforgettable to capture.”

This gorgeous garden party wedding was a colorful, floral, maximalist dream. Big congratulations to the entire team — we are so excited to see the imaginative, bloom-filled days it inspires 🌷🌻🪻
