Wedding planner and designer Dana Kramer with Haus of Gravity is a BIG fan of when couples add texture to the details and elements of their wedding/elopement, and this shoot had a TON of different things going on! Picture this: mixtures of dried and fresh florals, thrifted decor, hand painted accessories, a combination of textures, metal and wooden elements…and a whole lot more.
The creative team behind this shoot exemplified that you can create something absolutely stunning without spending a fortune! What people often overlook is the fact that thrifting so many of these elements is also a great sustainable option (reduce-reuse/repurpose-recycle baby!).
If you’re in love with any of the decor from this shoot, designer Dana GUARANTEES you can find it from an artist/thrift it/rent it/make it! Now let’s see what this team stirred up with dreamy photos by Sydney Kerbyson Photography…
All in the Details
Sundown Paper crafted a perfectly grungy romantic stationery suite, complete with suede fringe elements that tied into the overall design.
We love a bridal hat – and add some jewelry to it? Ok, we love it even more!
The Creative Team
The Shootout Society came to Haus of Gravity with the idea of a “moody indie styled shoot” as the buzzwords for the vision of the day and a sample design of what they wanted this shoot to look like. The goal was to push the boundaries of fall in New England, and make everything feel extra intentional, but not gothic or Halloween – and sometimes it’s hard to find the balance when designing alternative wedding inspo and using a dark color palette.
In regards to Oscany’s bold bridal look, she can quite literally pull off anything so the glam team was encouraged to push the envelope. A deep lip and fluttery lashes were accentuated with an untraditional gold rhinestone hairstyle – perfect for any trend-setting bride to take inspiration from!
Planning and Designer Dana Kramer shares her method behind the madness:
“To offset this notion of dark and gothic, or cliche fall, I incorporated untraditional textures, and elements and pieced together handmade items from some of my favorite New England wedding vendors. My Darling Threads custom embroidered a naughty saying on a delicately trimmed black and white lace veil, as well as a bridal hoop for an interactive prop for our models to hold. Kate’s Calligraphy put her spin on a custom guitar strap and tambourine, Ally Jacqueline worked her magic on a suede bridal jacket, rhinestone bandana and unique hat and Unearthed Revival incorporated stunning handmade macrame elements throughout to add visual interest and balance out all of the the deeper colors.”
Groom Tim rocked a deep burgundy striped suit and layered rings. If you look closely, a snake theme was woven throughout, a nod to the indie roots of the shoot as a whole. From the dried florals and Oscany’s snake tattoo to custom TB Press On nails and menu cards, no detail was spared.
Look at these stunning hues! It’s making us wish it were autumn already!

Bringing the Vision to Life
Hello Lucy Blooms absolutely nailed the floral design for this shoot! The bright pops of color bring a hint of vibrance to the darker color palette!
Ally Jacqueline worked her magic on a suede bridal jacket, rhinestone bandana and unique hat the bride accessorized her looks with!
Middle Sister Bakes created these custom snake cookies that perfectly tied into the theme!
Mixing the Elements of Design
Unearthed Revival incorporated stunning handmade macrame elements throughout to add visual interest and balance out all of the the deeper colors.
A more traditional dress and pantsuit were both sported throughout the day. Why wear one outfit, when you can rock two?!
Thanks so much to the talented creative team below for sharing their creativity with GWS!
