Do you have an affinity for adventure? Are you nutty for nature? Does the thought of traveling through the woods fill you with extreme wanderlust? If so, you’re going to ADORE Kathryn + Justin’s Pacific Northwest wedding, amongst the redwoods.
Some of K+J’s best memories were made spending time together in the woods, so they thought what better place to wed than amongst the trees? Kathryn tells us: Inspiration for the day came from our love of adventure, nature, the woods and the Pacific Northwest. We put so much of ourselves into the day, from the venue, to the hops we had the florist be sure to use on the altar and in the bouquets. You read that right — HOPS! You know, one of the essential ingredients used when brewing beer. So crafty.

Our Favorite Memory
Justin and I are from different sides of the country, and we lived in and traveled to several different states and countries during our relationship. Therefore, we have family and friends scattered across the country, as well as overseas. It was the most touching experience to have all these people we love travel so far to show their support for us and our relationship. Our hearts were overflowing with love and happiness, and we will never forget walking into the dining room and seeing all those people in one room. It is so difficult to pinpoint one most memorable moment of our wedding day, but the people we love celebrating with us, made it simply the best day ever.
The Reception
When we transitioned into dinner, we opened with “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast! It sounds super cheesy, but every had a blast singing and clapping along while the servers brought out our food.
Our Advice
Trust your vendors! They know what they are doing, and you chose their creative style for a reason. I actually loved having an element of surprise in seeing their ideas come to life on the wedding day. Also, don't question getting a day-of coordinator... just do it!
