Dark metal, forestry, tarot cards, smoke + spells… We’re pretty positive that this ‘bridal shower’ is unlike any that you have ever seen! Inspired by the feeling of the autumn equinox and a coven – which is described as a gathering of witches – this team of creatives concocted a moody + dark gathering in the hills, and it’s wickedly delicious.
Utilizing the Sweetwater Bridge on the outskirts of San Diego as a haven and home-base, the planner + designer, Urban Shindigs, set her plan in motion. Tawnee of Urban Shindigs shares We really wanted to play off the idea of a moody, sort of Halloween inspired event with gloomy undertones, magic, healing + sorcery. We thought it would be fun to relate it to a bridal shower – but like a dark, mysterious one. So there are outlined characteristics + hints of a bridal shower, but a ton of spooky details that are definitely not for the faint of heart.

Erin Dunaway brought all the moodiness into the hair and makeup – with lots of teased curls, braids, green lips, and mean smoky eye.
Tawnee shares All furniture was provided by CC Vintage Rentals. The gypsy tent was actually used by the owner’s mother during the 90s. She was a palm reader that frequented the local Renaissance Faire. It was only fitting to use this for our tarot card gathering.

Luxe Botanique killed it with all the florals! The way the blood-red roses pop against the other subdued colors truly makes a statement.
I spy hints of crushed green velvet + gold tableware from Not My Dish… Love this touch of luxe!

Hey There, Cupcake! worked some magic in the kitchen and brought an array of treats, including: blackberry chocolate brownies, raspberry éclairs, onyx black macarons, and a two tiered cake.
