Happy Monday + Happy New Year! For those of you who got engaged over the holidays, congrats! And a big, warm welcome to all of our new readers!! We’re kicking off 2016 with a beautiful wedding that was filled with sweet moments, gorgeous details + a beautiful Hawaiian backdrop. Puakea Ranch was the perfect place for Alexis + Ben to exchange their vows in front of close friends + family. And Opihi Love Wedding Coordination & Event Design helped them create their dream setting filled with a romantic, pastel color palette + textural florals by Bliss in Bloom. Alexis + Ben share, We knew we wanted the day to feel relaxed and bring it back to nature as much as possible.

This stunning celebration was a huge tribute to Sheryll Lacson, Alexis + Ben’s wedding planner. Melissa of Opihi Love says, Sheryll passed away right before it happened. This was one of the most special weddings I have ever been present at. The Big Island already has a lot of “mana” but this evening was extra spectacular. This pocket of paradise was clear, stars were out, full moon shining, lovely weather- just perfect. When you left the property and drove five minutes either way that evening- it was pouring rain, and cold. You could really feel her presence, and perfection. We left everything as Sheryll had planned, we left the flavors of the cake she suggested to Alexis & Ben, the flowers, the design… etc. It was a perfect evening. It was so special to me, to give Sheryll one last show- She loved planning weddings, especially this one.
This is such a perfect bouquet, right?! We love the textural japonica pieris, blush tulips + sweet, ivory roses.
Alexis made such a stunning bride! Her gorgeous dress was by Grace Loves Lace dress and her pretty hair + makeup was the handiwork of Maui Makeup Artistry.

Our first dance under a starry sky and a full moon in the middle of no where, it felt like it was just us in the whole world.
Our Advice
If something feels right, just go for it! Our decision to change plans from having a medium sized wedding in West Australia to having a secret intimate wedding in Hawaii was one of the best ones we’ve ever made. And the best thing about it was that when the time came to share the news with our family and friends, we received nothing but love and support for our decision.
