Happy Monday, lovelies! Let’s get this week started with Jen + Devin’s gorgeous Palm Springs wedding, which was pretty much handmade perfection right down the littlest detail! These two wanted their day to feel like it truly reflected them as a couple. Fun, full of love, and a little bit silly, says Jen. And from where we’re standing, it looks like they achieved that and then some! We are loving the overall playful tone + all of those super rad, DIY details that help set their day apart from the pack.
A bit more from Jen, Making it about the two of us was pretty easy since we basically crafted it from the ground up. Either of us would throw out an idea and anything that stuck or made us grin got put into motion! (I think Devin’s one disappointment was that he couldn’t quite get me on board with his idea of having a bouncy house…).

Our Favorite Memory
Jen: When we got to steal away by ourselves for a few minutes right after the ceremony. That was a brief moment where I felt like things slowed down enough that we could just quietly be together and appreciate the huge thing that we had just done! Oh, and the reception when things turned into a dance party and then a pool party. It was so wonderful to be able to look around and see so many of our friends and family who are normally scattered across the continent all in one place and having a great time.
Devin: The vows, because that's when everything else drifted away and it was just about us.

Our Advice
Planning a wedding can be an exciting and wonderful thing, but it's also this new and huge and totally-loaded-with-expectations thing that you're navigating with your fiancé/family/loved ones. So it can also feel stressful and overwhelming at times. That's okay and is totally normal! One of the most helpful things I read early on was to not expect people to change their fundamental personalities just because you're having a wedding (whether that be yourself, your partner, your crazy aunt, etc). That little nugget really helped me stay grounded when I hit a more stressful day so that I was all the more able to enjoy the other wonderful times!
