Guys, Shannon + Nick have some serious style! But we’re sure you could already tell for yourself from that opening image. For their incredible, timeless Smog Shoppe wedding, they were inspired by 1960’s style, Mia Farrow and “cool cats looking cool” (awesome!). They incorporated traditions they felt passionate about + ditched the ones they felt weren’t as meaningful to them – and we encourage all couples to do the same!
Their day was filled with all kinds of beautiful details crafted by The Love Riot + Jesi Haack Design, which you’ll see in a sec, like rustic hanging floral boxes, a lazer cut escort card backdrop and some the most incredible ceremony site draping ever! And we like that they put a big emphasis on the party aspect of things, too, inviting Pharmacie LA to whip up delicious drinks + keeping the party going strong with 80’s new wave + timeless garage rock courtesy of DART DJs!
And we’re super glad Steve Cowell was there to capture + share it all with us today!
Our accidental first look made for a special surprise moment! Instead of a posed/planned moment, which would have been lovely, Nick popped out of an elevator to find me being photographed on a landing in the lobby of the historic Culver Hotel.
Wow, this bouquet! Honey & Poppies really hit the nail on the head with this, and all of the stunning florals from the day!
Serious love for everyone’s style! We especially adore Shannon’s BHLDN Rococo gown!
This draping is such a dream!
The tables looked lovely with peach + pink linens and a time-honored, 60’s classy feel.
And since we kinda fell in love with Shannon + Nick’s wedding playlist, we thought we’d share it with you guys!
Get a planner. Prioritize where you want the money to go, realizing that you can't have everything you want. Don't be afraid to break tradition and add your own elements to the ceremony, ie, a "diamond" capped walking stick for an 11 yr old to escort his new aunt down the aisle.

What a pretty dress and shoes the bride chose, and the portrait where the bride is sitting and the groom is standing is a perfect vintage shot!

I forgot to hit “reply” when I replied to your post…
Thanks for the write up of our day! We had a lot of fun working with everyone, and couldn’t have asked for a better team.
Julia – The bands were designed and made by Seymour Jewelers in Hermosa Beach, they also replaced the stones in the antique engagement ring http://www.seymourjewelers.com
Gorgeous set of photos! Love the portrait shots of the bride and groom at the bottom of the stairs.
