1. Malibu Dream Airstream, Malibu, CA
Picture it: You, Malibu, a private deck perched over the Pacific, and hikeable hills as far as the eye can see—and that’s just the setting. As if your own private bluff weren’t enough, reimagined Airstreams feature floor-to-ceiling slidable glass panels for mandatory ocean sunsets. Even Barbie would be jealous of this one.
2. Restored Modern Airstream, Salt Lake City, UT
This 1976 Airstream Ambassador still holds plenty of nostalgia, notably the original stove and cubbies, but the shag carpet and laminate cupboards have been replaced with bamboo floors and a rad kitchen redo, complete with reclaimed wood, for an updated spin that feels way roomier. Extra points for its downtown Salt Lake City location. $75 per night.
3. Sound of Silence 1964 Airstream, Joshua Tree, CA
The trippy Joshua trees, twinkling lights, and hammock chair all give this Instagram-worthy Airstream a desert oasis feel. And there’s just as much eye candy inside, with indigo-dyed curtains, whimsical pillows, and potted cacti. The five-acre property also includes a sister Airstream, hot tub, outdoor shower, shared clubhouse, fireplace, and community table to tap your communal living side. $140 per night.
4. The Land Yacht, Joshua Tree, CA
Yes, the private covered patio and orange-accented hipster interior of this 31-foot Airstream had us at hello, but it’s the large stock tank pool on the deck that has us weak in the knees. Take a plunge for an instant refresh after all that Joshua Tree hiking. There’s also a chimenea for evening fires and unlimited stargazing. $129 per night.
5. Aloha Traveler PDX, Portland, OR
This 1967 restored Aloha trailer in Stumptown may be small, but it’s mighty—and multi-purpose. The dinette becomes a kid-sized bed and the above shelf doubles as a bunk for a littl’un. It also comes with a private patio and heated outdoor shower, plus novel perks like robe, slippers, local artisan coffee, Polaroid-style instant camera, and vintage gaming unit. $68 per night.
