1. Malibu Dream Airstream, Malibu, CA
Picture it: You, Malibu, a private deck perched over the Pacific, and hikeable hills as far as the eye can see—and that’s just the setting. As if your own private bluff weren’t enough, reimagined Airstreams feature floor-to-ceiling slidable glass panels for mandatory ocean sunsets. Even Barbie would be jealous of this one.
2. Restored Modern Airstream, Salt Lake City, UT
This 1976 Airstream Ambassador still holds plenty of nostalgia, notably the original stove and cubbies, but the shag carpet and laminate cupboards have been replaced with bamboo floors and a rad kitchen redo, complete with reclaimed wood, for an updated spin that feels way roomier. Extra points for its downtown Salt Lake City location. $75 per night.
3. Sound of Silence 1964 Airstream, Joshua Tree, CA
The trippy Joshua trees, twinkling lights, and hammock chair all give this Instagram-worthy Airstream a desert oasis feel. And there’s just as much eye candy inside, with indigo-dyed curtains, whimsical pillows, and potted cacti. The five-acre property also includes a sister Airstream, hot tub, outdoor shower, shared clubhouse, fireplace, and community table to tap your communal living side. $140 per night.
4. The Land Yacht, Joshua Tree, CA
Yes, the private covered patio and orange-accented hipster interior of this 31-foot Airstream had us at hello, but it’s the large stock tank pool on the deck that has us weak in the knees. Take a plunge for an instant refresh after all that Joshua Tree hiking. There’s also a chimenea for evening fires and unlimited stargazing. $129 per night.
5. Aloha Traveler PDX, Portland, OR
This 1967 restored Aloha trailer in Stumptown may be small, but it’s mighty—and multi-purpose. The dinette becomes a kid-sized bed and the above shelf doubles as a bunk for a littl’un. It also comes with a private patio and heated outdoor shower, plus novel perks like robe, slippers, local artisan coffee, Polaroid-style instant camera, and vintage gaming unit. $68 per night.
6. Silver Sequoia under the Stars and Moon, Portland, OR
This Airstream is all 1958 on the outside and total restored chic on the inside. A medley of white and wood with plenty of stylish accents (pillows, plants, and pottery), it also boasts a roomy bed, nook seating, storage galore, and a trendy indoor tub. Plus it’s parked in Portland’s hip Buckman ‘hood for easy access to fab food options. $85 per night.
7. North Seattle Getaway, Seattle WA
Cook, snooze, dine, bunk, read, and relax—what can’t you do in this 3-bed behemoth in North Seattle? Don’t be fooled by the outer ’80s vibe; inside is all polished party with a chic kitchen, redone dinette, and spacious indoor shower, with extra cool points for stylish pillows and mantra board. (“You’ll never make anything happen if you don’t try stuff.”) Sleeps four comfortably. $63 per night.
This 1948 Spartan is the stuff of Pinterest dreams with its molded birch paneling, custom cabinets, and splashes of swagger, like the copper lights with Einstein bulbs and the “Namast-ay in bed” pillows on the queen bed. Bonus: The host of this spacious Santa Fe stunner is an ordained minister, if you’re thinking wedding (hint, hint). $69 per night.
9. Airstream Garden Oasis, Oakland, CA
This 32-foot refurbished Land Yacht in West Oakland is close to trendy eateries. (Brown Sugar Kitchen is a must, though check to see that its recent metamorphosis is complete before stopping by.) It’s also a quick 10 minutes door-to-door to San Francisco. Not that you’ll want to leave. The chic, minimalist interior is beyond inviting and the bathroom is a true oasis, complete with claw-foot tub and cement countertops. $90 per night.
This vintage Airstream is a great home base for those that want to visit all that Southern Oregon offers, including the Oregon Shakespeare Theater. This comfortably cozy pad is parked in a private area on a five-acre property, just outside the city limits—with numerous hiking and biking trails for you to explore. $83 per night.
