I found photographer Robert Sukrachand’s blog the other day and fell in love with this wedding. It has all my favorite elements: a beautiful outdoor setting, vintage decor, paper cranes, a campfire with smores, and just so many neat details. Yuli and Keith’s wedding was held in October at the Beaver Del in upstate New York. There are a lot of DIY in this wedding and all their attention to details show. Family and friends gathered days earlier for two full days of crafting and setup, putting up hand-painted signs and suspending the countless paper cranes (there were over 1600 paper cranes)! Congrats to Yuli and Keith and check out Robert’s blog for even more photos.
Venue: The Beaver Del Hotel & Campground, Bouquet’s: Saipua, Catering: Full Moon Resort, Cupcakes: Baked, Mustaches!: Something’s Hiding in Here, Bride’s Dress: Cymbeline, Wood vine crown: Which goose
A cute back story….Keith based his elaborate proposal around the old English balled “Scarborough Fair.” Puzzle clues led Yuli on a task-related adventure around the city before leading her to the proposal site of Scarborough Castle in England. How romantic!
Yuli’s brother Yuta officiated the wedding. Says Yuli, “It was great to be joined in marriage by someone so familiar with us, and whom we love so much. I was so proud and honored. His favorite joke the week before the wedding was ‘I’m going to marry my sister this weekend…'”
The couple, both classic-movie buffs, set out theater-style popcorn for their guests. With thirty children at the wedding, special treats and games kept them happily entertained. Movie-ticket place cards, displayed in an antique Belgian creamery crate, corresponded with vintage movie posters identifying each table.
Love the bridal party’s vintage look!
Inspired by wooden mustaches she found on Etsy, Yuli created a fun Mustachio Portrait Station. In the background, wedding photos of married relatives hang from tree branches in homemade frames.
Below: “Great catch.” A fishing net displayed Polaroids of the couple. I love the Tokidoki cake topper!!
The Charismatic Megafauna. The band brought an old-timey, acoustic roots sound to the affair. They even arranged a version of Scarborough Fair for the wedding march.

Oh my goodness – this is just heavenly. I am incredible jealous of this her mad DIY skills! Thank you for sharing!
And thank you for adding us to your blogroll! We’ve added your fabulous blog to ours!
Where did she get her great shoes??? I’m super jealous!
I am also looking for leads on those amazing shoes! Anyone?
As someone who was there, I have to say it was quite a charming wedding. The location, the details, the decorations, the food, and everything else was unique and perfect. I found the collage of Poloroids in a fish net (with the tag line – great catch) to be quite the tour de force, considering how many years it took to take & collect those photos. Great to see this wedding still getting attention on the blogs!
