You caught Part 1 of Meghan + Patrick’s awesome Wes Anderson-inspired wedding, right? If not, go ahead + check that out right now + meet us back here in a sec! We love, love, love their incredibly fun + whimsical reception, styled by the creative geniuses at Glitter + Rye + orchestrated by SociaLife Event Planning! And Pat Furey’s photos just couldn’t have been any better. One of the coolest design elements in our opinion has got to be the styled vignettes of some of M + P’s fave Wes movies! They artfully surrounded the reception tables, made for perfect photo backdrops, and really pulled their guests in and made them feel like they were part of the flicks! Such a fun, unique way to carry humor + character throughout the setting…
Lots of fun to be had pool-side during cocktail hour!
Here are those backdrop vignettes we were talking about! We’re just so mad about the summer camp-meets-Wes Anderson details. We thought it would be fun to put together a little shopping guide to help others who love this look too:
Glitter + Rye crafted the most fitting centerpieces for the environment; not too perfect, but colorful + kitschy with a handpicked-from-the-property type feel!
So much love for the typography + signage by Art Paper Scissors! M + P’s giant craft paper logo looks so rad decorating their sweetheart table.
Our Advice
Fun is contagious. :) The more you make it what you want, the more fun you will have and the more fun you have the more fun your guests have. If you find yourself feeling bad or worrying about insulting people because you’re eliminating traditional things from your wedding, just keep this in mind.
