One of the requests from our recent reader survey was to spotlight other cities vendors + venues. We share lots of great Cali inspiration here (along with weddings from all over the world) but I thought it would be fun to highlight different cities each month. So, to start the feature off – Portland! The hubby and I visited Portland a few weeks ago and had the chance to meet with some of these talented vendors and take the city in. We had a great stay at the ultra glam Hotel Deluxe, had the most amazing brunch at Tasty N Sons, stopped by the Saturday Farmer’s Market (which was AMAZING!), and overall had a great few days seeing what Portland was all about. We’ve featured many of these vendors before, but I thought it would be great to show them all off together.
If you are looking for a wedding dress, I recommend stopping by The English Department where they carry a select few designers including the owner Elizabeth Dye’s collection which are GORGEOUS! Portland is also home to one of our favorites (and a current sponsor) Sarah Seven. Sarah has a store here where she has all her dresses you can try them on and meet her – super fun! Looking for a perfect hair piece? Twigs & Honey (also one of our lovely sponsors) is from Portland and carried at The English Department. And we can’t forget the groom! Duchess Clothier is the place for him. For floral + event design, I recommend the creative team at Punch.
Photographers. Portland has some talented photographers to choose from! :) Some of my favorites include: Blue Window Creative, Brandon Witzel and Kelty of Steep Street. And Steep Street also does invitation design!
And then the venue! If you are looking for a glam hotel, Hotel Deluxe is your pick. They also have a rooftop location with gorgeous views of the city – it would be amazing for a ceremony + reception. If you are more outdoorsy + rustic, Camp Lane is a pretty, unique venue outside of Portland. For the most yummy food, check out Vibrant Table. Or mix it up and have a food cart cater your day! Koi Fusion would be a great pick or check out Food Carts Portland for all the latest food carts.
Hope that is a start for those of you planning a wedding in Portland. Are there any other great venues I should know about or other vendors? I’d also love to hear if you guys like this idea and want to see more or not so much, so please let me know your thoughts in the comments. :) And next up we’ll be sharing a Portland Wedding!! :)
This is beautiful! Love that cities will be highlighted as well. Hopefully you’ll feature New Orleans so I have a great starting point…
Such a fun way to highlight a region! Love it!
Yay for Portland! This is an amazing place with so many creatives :)
LOVE this feature!! It’s fun to check out other cities….. if you do Denver, let me know and I can tell you everything I know about my city!! :) :)
Oh I love this idea, especially because we were talking about throwing an additional party in Portland and I was surprised how hard it was to find the same type of material as GWS for Portland.
I’m way on the other side of the country but I love Portland and am happy to wear a Sarah Seven dress at my wedding in October. Yay!
Wow…Portland has so many talented vendors!
Nice post. Love!
Also, what font is “Portland” & all of the script front in?? Such cute fonts. thx!!
Thank you for giving lots of wedding love to our great city! I am a Portland bride-to-be–and am so happy you chose to highlight the wonderfully, talented vendors we have here!
Yes, Portland is a wonderful place to be a wedding photographer. We have a wonderfully thriving wedding industry community here. There are also TONS of amazing vineyards and even a few brweries that make awesome wedding venues here.
Oregon & Portland Metro is a great place to be a Floral Designer! Inspiration comes from all around! Urban to forest beauty to beach bliss!
I Love GWS :)
Thanks for doing this, GWS! As Erica Ann said, we have such an awesome and supportive city to work in. Go team Portland!
Thanks everyone! Glad you liked the post. We are doing Milwaukee next and I have New Orleans and Denver on the list too. :)
As for the font for the word Portland, it is Lady Rene – such a fun font!! ) http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/sudtipos/lady-rene/
Being from Portland, this is incredibly helpful! Thanks!
YAY for Portland (from a Portland native)! Highlighting some great vendors!
This is awesome- YAY to Steep Street photography for bridal! (She designed my site and biz cards too ;)
I’ve only visited once, but I fell in love with Portland when I was there! For another gorgeous hotel, I’d recommend The Nines, or the Hotel Vintage Plaza. We’re actually staying at the Vintage Plaza for our honeymoon – it was a close race between those two hotels.
Portland does have amazing creative vendors, but I don’t feel like you can complete this posting without mentioning Jos photographers!! Many people I know have worked with Jos and his work is nothing short of amazing and brilliant. Truly pieces of art!
