Today, I thought I’d share some of my current favorite wedding invitations + save the dates I’ve seen in the past few weeks. There are so many creative designers out there creating really unique invitations for couples – and there are also lots of studios that have amazing collections that can be customized to your liking.
The first group are from MaeMae paperiee in Los Angeles. This collection is called Jasper and is from their 2010 Collection. The best part about it is that everything can be customized to your choice of colors and even minimal design adjustments are allowed. Pieces can be printed flat or letterpressed. So great for couples that want custom invites, but maybe don’t have the budget for them.
Below is a customized Bridal Shower invitation MaeMae created for a backyard bridal shower in San Diego. I love the muted colors and nest illustration.
Next up is a favorite illustrator of mine whose work I’ve featured a bunch of times here on Green Wedding Shoes, Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co. From Anna, Chris & Alison were married at a national park in Ohio and their invitation set was inspired by their location as well as their love of gig & vintage WPA posters. The main invitation was a fold out poster and we also created a vintage park guide inspired booklet that included a note from the couple, wedding information, a map, and a tear away RSVP postcard on the last page. The booklet was printed and then bound with stitched red thread. So much love and detail put into this!
Below is a Bahamas letterpress invite designed by the talented groom, Scott Peiffer, and printed at Studio on Fire. I love the uniqueness of each card. So many different textures and graphics – you can tell a lot of thought and love went into this.
And last, but not least, some amazing illustration work by Anne Benjamin of Mok Duk. Somewhere between Chicago & Pittsburgh, two paths crossed. This first letterpressed invite celebrates the couple’s memorable past and their bright future to come.
This second screen printed invitation incorporates the couple’s love for biking and the outdoors as well as the Arts & Crafts aesthetic of the lodge and amphitheater where the wedding took place.
If you need more inspiration, be sure to check out any of the above sites – lots more beauties in their shops and blogs. Remember, the invite is the first thing your guests will see about your wedding. It helps sets the tone and formality of your wedding and prepares your guests for what’s to come, so get creative!
