Perhaps a Mad Men binge-watch had something to do with it or perhaps it was always in their bones, but when Jamie of Jamie Mercurio Photography and Sara of Lulu & Co. Events discovered their mutual love for that mid-century-modern style, they knew it was a shoot just waiting to happen! These two hit Portland, Maine’s top vintage shops, seeking out props and fashion to reflect a design true to the era. The final piece, a team of incredibly talented vendors, brought their retro inspiration to life.

Portland Flea For All proved to be a treasure trove for Jamie and Sara. As they were sourcing props for the shoot, they happened upon this amazing 1960’s asymmetrical white cocktail beaded dress with an adorable bow. It felt so much like fate that they purchased it right then and there, without measurements or dress size. Turns out, it was a PERFECT fit for their bride, Tara!
YUM. The Asian-inspired cuisine was whipped up by Harvest Moon Catering Co. and it’s sooo pretty!
This a pedestal table white wire egg chairs (plus the vintage glassware and candlesticks) all came from Portland Flea For All!
The team shot at The Stonehouse Manor, a GORGE bed & breakfast venue right down the street from Popham Beach.
Loving that brocade bridesmaid dress?! It’s also vintage, and came from another local shop called Everchanging Seasons. The girls’ mid-century-inspired hair and makeup was created byAriel Johnson Makeup who updated the beehive-and-big-ponytail styles of the time for a more modern look.
