Today’s wedding has such a great story behind it! A few years ago Leigh + David were living in Los Angeles when they took their first trip as a couple to Nashville. They both fell deeply in love with the city, and after a romantic surprise proposal in Central Park, they knew they wanted to return to Nashville to tie the knot! Leigh shares, In our search for the ideal wedding venue in Nashville we were struggling. We wanted something that was historic yet modern, indoor/outdoor, inspired, unique and in the heart of the city but we couldn’t find it. In a conversation with my mom she jokingly said “Why don’t you just build it?”…she always has excellent ideas! Leigh partnered with her twin sister Chandra Watson (you may recognize these ladies from their group The Watson Twins!) and their long time friend Nealy, and began creating their version of the perfect event venue in Nashville. And with that, their space, The Cordelle, was born.
Nestled amidst the downtown landscape of Nashville we found a 130 year old Victorian home that was in jeopardy of being torn down and we knew we had to save her. The property fit all our “wants” and “needs” as far as having space for a garden and a large covered patio. Today we have The Cordelle a mix of historic and the “now”, the past and the present woven together… the ideal spot to tie the knot… and so we did! Saying “Yes” to the man I married has inspired my life in so many ways, it also brought Nashville a new event space and a new beginning for all of us!
We adore the rustic + romantic feel Leigh and David brought to the space. Such a great complement to the historical setting and a place that means so much to the two of them! Big thanks to Love Is A Big Deal for these gorgeous captures from the day and congrats to the happy couple + team Cordelle on a beautiful day and a big success! We can’t wait to see lots more gorgeous weddings here!! :)
"First look” photos with my soon-to-be husband!! The traditional bride in me didn’t want to see him until I walked down the aisle, but I’m so glad we had those moments before guests arrived to connect with one another. The happy tears, the smiles and the laughter started our celebration in a way I will never forget, relaxed and in love.
We so love the vintage-meets-modern style these two went with. Leigh wore a gorgeous Nicole Miller gown from The Dress Theory paired with a delicate Twigs & Honey halo + fun Anthropologie booties. David rocked a J.Crew suit with a dapper Otis James tie + Nic Fouquet hat! Looking so good, guys! :)
The super pretty blooms were crafted by Caroline Jones Floral Design. We love ’em!
L + D exchanged their vows under one of the prettiest chuppahs we’ve seen! Love the rustic feel of the crocheted bohemian fabric festooned with olive branch + peony bunches…
This bouquet definitely deserved a close up!
Rustic garlands decorated the exposed wood tables + pretty details like yarn dreamcatchers and blush pink geodes lent a romantic, bohemian flair to the setting.

Building your own venue isn’t for everyone and its ALOT of hard work, but I do think the venue is a very important part of the design and style of your event! Every couple should make sure they love their wedding location because the venue and the dress really set the tone.
