Jenieva + Tyler weren’t afraid to deck their wedding venue in Ojai, California to the nines + truly make it an extension of the two of them. We love how the setting kinda must have felt like you were walking into their home – with sweet vignettes, like vintage-inspired lounges + eclectic, southwestern-styled tablescapes, as far as the eye could see. Fun ideas like an outdoor movie screening + a record player tipi parlor took the place of more formal traditions like a bouquet/garter toss + grand reception entrance. We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: We love it when couples truly do things their way! Here’s more from the bride about it all:
I got a lot of inspiration from wedding blogs. GWS was my favorite [Aw, thanks Jenieva!], and helped me narrow down my vision for the day. We knew we wanted something small and intimate, and something to reflect our personal style (vintage, bohemian, southwestern). We went thrift store shopping every other weekend to find decor and we used furniture and bits and pieces from our house to really make it personal. We also decided to have our best friend officiate our ceremony, and I’m so glad we did! He did a great job and made the whole thing more special. We didn’t include any wedding traditions that didn’t feel like “us”. We kept it simple and relaxed, like us.
Thanks so much to Katie Pritchard for the super lovely photos and big congrats to Jenieva + Tyler on a perfect day!
The most memorable moment for both of us was the "first look". It was the first time we had seen each other in the two days before the wedding, and it was so special. It gave us a chance to relax and feel comfortable, and to forget about our pre- wedding jitters! And the look on Tyler's face when he saw me for the first time is something I'll never forget.
Jenieva wore one of our all time favorite dresses, this rad black +  ivory Mara Hoffman number, available at Free People!
We’re definitely digging the bohemian feel of the ceremony site. And bonus points for that epic Ojai mountain view in the background!
These two smiled their way back up the aisle to All I Want Is You by Barry Louis Polisar!
From the wedding party looks to the eclectic, bohemian design elements, we’re loving it all! What about you?!
Such a sweet shot!
Have fun with it! The wedding day goes by so so fast, so enjoy the time you spend planning, and don't stress out about the little things.
