We’re definitely starting to get in the Halloween spirit, so today’s fun editorial, based on the story of Sleepy Hollow is a perfect thing for this afternoon! With lots of rich colors, unique details + a straight up amazing black wedding dress, we have to say, we really love how Lukas & Suzy VanDyke, Harmony Creative Studio, and Heirloom Design House brought this dark + mysterious tale to life…
From Margaux of Harmony Creative Studio, Inspired by both the classic Washington Irving short story, and the new romantic and bold FOX television show, our Sleepy Hollow themed wedding shoot was created out of a love for all things hauntingly beautiful. We set out to create a more sophisticated and refined Halloween inspired shoot. Wanting to steer clear of the usual scary elements and orange and purple colors, we decided to go with a more natural theme, which really embraced our color palette of wine, rust, burgundy, forest green, bronze and black. Elements such as branches, twigs, leaves, fruit and bark were utilized to callback to the natural elements Irving described so beautifully in his short story, and which play such a large part in the supernatural elements of the new television show.
Seriously, what a cool dress!
We love the simple escort display above + the overgrown floral chandelier below!
The dramatic candlelight sets the perfect tone for a moody, fruit-topped naked cake display.
A few parting words from Margaux, We hope to inspire your readers and show a bit of dark and haunting beauty with a natural twist for this Halloween.
