Romantic California Barn Wedding: Dianna + Brian

california barn wedding

Dianna + Brian’s California barn wedding was just about as romantic as they come! But don’t just take my word for it, you’re about to see all the prettiness for yourself! Dreamy, layered hues of ivory, peach and gray provided the perfect base for a slew of charming DIY details, handmade by the bride herself. And the floral design + flower crowns by The Little Branch integrated so naturally into the design, you’d swear you were walking into an environment that had been styled this way for ages. Everything fit so well into the setting at Graf Barn and had a serene, organic feel. Definitely a nice dose of inspiration for other DIY brides who are handcrafting their day! Here’s a bit more about it all from Dianna:

We were inspired by nature and vintage love. We wanted the day to be earthy yet romantic. We added so many of our own DIY elements – from the vintage door chandelier photobooth, to the homemade soap and candle guest favors, and then of course the moment I changed into my mother’s wedding dress just for the father/daughter dance. The personal touches were endless and the feel and look of the venue radiated what we both love to escape to when we travel on our many roadtrips together.

Big thanks to Love is a Big Deal for sharing Dianna + Brian’s gorgeous photos with us and congrats to the newlyweds on a beautiful day!

Dianna + Brian’s first look was one of the sweetest I’ve seen – and was also Brian’s favorite moment of the day!

Dianna’s look was so ethereal + romantic. Her dress was by Tara Keely which she paired with booties from BHLDN.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Dianna: The most memorable moment of the day for me was the ceremony and the exchanging of our vows. We each wrote our vows the night before, alone in our hotel rooms (yes we are both terrible procrastinators) But they couldn’t have been more real and raw and somehow this was the clearest part of the entire day, while everything else seemed to fly by. I was so unbelievably nervous for that moment, but it ended up being so peaceful and feeling as if it were just the two of us up there together.

Brian: The most memorable moment for me was the first look. I got super emotional as I stood there waiting for her to walk up. I had my back turned and I knew when I turned around my soon to be wife would be standing there. It was pretty awesome and actually hard to put into words.

I’m beyond in love with their escort card display, which featured mismatched vintage handkerchiefs denoting the seating layout. The casual arrangement of the props + flowers gave the setting the feel of an old-fashioned shop or market. So sweet!

The barn, where Dianna + Brian hosted their reception, exuded so much charm! Loving the lace textiles, hanging candlelight and mismatched place settings.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Brian: I suggest that anyone planning a wedding should plan to do a first look. It really helped calm us both down and the alone time was great. Once the ceremony happens the day becomes even more of a whirlwind.

Dianna: Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many of the tiny details. Remember to have fun, eat your dinner and have lots of cake! I forced Brian and I to sit and thoroughly enjoy our first meal together as husband and wife because I knew once we got up the night would fly by.
