Romantic Bridesmaid Looks from Joanna August

bohemian bridesmaids

Happy Tuesday, loves! We are so, so excited about today’s special two part feature – a styling collaboration with Green Wedding Shoes + one of our favorite bridesmaid dress designers, Joanna August! As some of you may know, Joanna August is a true pioneer in the wedding + bridesmaid dress industry. In a world where the average dress only gets one (sometimes – gasp – tacky + unflattering) life, Joanna’s bridesmaid dress designs are so beautiful + timeless, your friends will love + feel great in them on the big day and are guaranteed to wear them again + again.

For our collaboration with Joanna at The Loft on Pine, we wanted to showcase her gorgeous gowns in three beautiful settings that we knew the GWS gal would love! We’ll admit that with SO many pretty dresses to choose from, it was a bit hard to narrow down our ideas at first. But once we were able to determine a direction, the idea of a romantic, bohemian wedding – where the ‘maids would be decked out in the dreamiest watercolor palette of pastels – seemed like the perfect place to start. And we’re so glad the amazing Brandon Kidd was on board to capture it all exactly as we saw it play out…

Erika, Rileigh and Leah were total babes in some of our fave pieces from Joanna’s collection. Erika wore the Kimberly Dress in Paradise City which has the most amazing cut-out back detailing. We adore that pale blue hue of Rileigh’s ultra-sweet Lacey Dress – the color is called Into the Mystic and is a brand new addition to the Joanna August collection. The ruffled neckline is such a cute look paired with her pretty crown of braids. And Leah looked seriously lovely in the Newbury Dress (in the prettiest color called Tiny Dancer) don’t you think? This wrap dress has sleeves that can be worn 2 ways: up as wide straps or down as cap sleeves. When paired with a stunning silk flower crown by Erica Elizabeth Designs, her look was exactly what we envisioned from the start: romantic, bohemian, and as gorgeous as it gets.

We couldn’t have imagined more perfect florals than what The Little Branch provided. The girls’ bouquets were cohesive, yet original, and we LOVE the textures the protea, garden roses, and unique greens added.

Some serious swooning happening over those ruffles + that bouquet!

Symmetry Beauty gave the gals the ideal bohemian wedding-day look. The soft waves, braids + natural, romantic makeup perfectly complemented Joanna’s ethereal dresses.

We told you the back of the Kimberly Dress was good!

A quick wardrobe change revealed three new gorgeous Joanna August gowns – all versions of the Sammy Convertible Dress which each have sewn-in skirt panels that convert into straps that can be tied into over 15 different styles! Below Rileigh + Erika are wearing the dress in lush chiffon. Rileigh is seen in a blush color, aptly named Tiny Dancer + Erika in a gorgeous shade of luminous gray called Silver Bells.

We love that your bridesmaids can each tie theirs in a way that would make them feel comfortable + beautiful on the big day.

We’re sure you’re eyeing the gorge boho furniture + prop rentals from Found. Their pieces fit in perfectly with our vision for the shoot – aaaand we now want a bunch of woven peacock chairs for the GWS office! :)

And below Leah is wearing the Sammy Convertible Dress in all lace. An amazing option for a wedding dress, don’t you think?
