Real Wedding: Jenny + Kevin’s Farm Wedding

Today I have a really sweet farm wedding to share with you guys! Jenny + Kevin are photographers and readers of GWS, so I’m super excited to share their day here today. They are also huge fans of photographer Ben Blood – as am I :) – and were lucky enough to have him capture their day. Jenny + Kevin were married beneath a big tree at the Pomeroy Farm in Yacolt, WA. It was their first summer hosting weddings so they got a pretty good deal (tip – places that are new to holding weddings will often give you a better deal to help get the word out, so don’t be afraid to book someplace new!) And onto the photos…

From Kevin, “We knew we wanted to get married outside and looked at a bunch of places until we found the Pomeroy Farm and knew instantly that it was everything we were looking for. Trying to compliment the country feel of the farm, we collected old books and vintage glassware from thrift stores and antique shops, and had my mother make our tablecloths and pennant lines. Jenny and her sister went to the farmer’s market in Vancouver, WA the morning of the wedding and picked out the flowers and wheat stalks for the bouquets and had our friends put them together before the ceremony. We made the kite boutonnieres ourselves from felt and made the kites we hung in the tree out of dowels and fabric. We were so lucky to have a bunch of friends willing to show up early and help us set everything up before the wedding.”

Jenny found both her dress (Jenny Yoo) and hairpiece at The English Dept in Portland. She had all the bridesmaids pick out their own dresses. Kevin found most of the groomsmen vests at thrift stores and vintage shops. The polka dot ties were made by Me and Matilda.

Kevin made all the signs at the wedding from old cabinet doors and white vinyl! Love them!!

Kevin used to play in a band with a few of his groomsmen so they decided to play “This Heart’s On Fire” by Wolf Parade slowed to a march while Jenny walked down the aisle. How super sweet!! The wedding was officiated by a good friend of theirs. He read some Kahlil Gibran and The Giving Tree during their ceremony.

They set up a  pop-up photobooth for their guests to have fun with and then made a stop-motion video with all the photos.

we are married!!

A bit more from Kevin, For favors we had some custom toothpick holders made by Stumpy Originals that read “I Survived The Klinskidorn Wedding.” Our new last name “Klinskidorn” was made by combining both our last names Klinski and Dorn without the hinderance of a pesky hyphen.

After the wedding we traveled for about three months throughout Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Spain. We kept a photo blog of our travels for our family and friends Klinskidorn Adventures. We didn’t register for gifts and just asked that people help us with a monetary gift toward our travels.

Thanks so much to Jenny + Kevin and best wishes to you both!
