Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. I spent lots of time playing video games with my nephew and trying to stay warm in chilly Wisconsin – very relaxing. :) So, I’m all rested and so excited to share lots of amazing weddings + ideas with you guys this week.
To start things off, we have a super fun + personal wedding at the Parker Palm Springs. Hayley is an interior designer + her new hubby Dougie is an amazing artist, so it’s no surprise that their wedding is just magical! From Haley, “When we first came to the Parker we fell in love with the decor and it served as our main source of inspiration. We wanted a fun mid-century colorful wedding that just felt HAPPY! Everyone kept telling us throughout the day that everything about the wedding was just so us. I loved that!”
I love the cute robes from Plum Pretty Sugar all the bridesmaids are wearing! How fun and makes for some great photos. :)
Love the Jonathan Adler pillow they used for the rings!
When Dougie and I had our first look. I’m not a big crier, but I just couldn’t hold back the tears when I turned around and saw my handsome Dougie fighting back his own tears. It was one of those surreal moments I will remember for the rest of my life. I had been so nervous right before I saw him but being with Dougie before all the festivities began put me completely at ease. I was so excited to become his wife. The day was a celebration of our love and it started out on the best note possible.
The other thing that made this wedding fun + different was the way they used the space at the Parker. The ceremony was at the waterfall – the typical ceremony site, but instead of a huppah + flowing flowers, Megan of La Partie Events draped the trees with huge garlands to create an exotic olive tree temple!
I just love those Kate Spade heels a guest was wearing – actually all the guests are super stylish!
I also LOVED our ceremony. Every part of it was magical (is that a dorky word?). Dougie’s dad Lance performed the ceremony and put everyone completely at ease with his funny sense of humor. We also wrote our own vows together (a little sentimental with a touch of funny) that gave the ceremony an extra special personal touch. I just loved it all! Dinner looked like a scene out of a movie and dancing couldn’t have been more fun in the moroccan tent!! Every moment was memorable and amazing!
The party then moved to the Palm Grove, light with bistro lights for cocktails, where more guest added their comments to the vintage Palm Springs design book that doubled as the guest book. The bar areas were enhanced with custom light fixtures designed by the groom.
Dinner was served on feasting tables in the Moroccan Garden, covered with colorful yellow runners that Hayley’s mom made + lit with a cascade of Chinese Lanterns.
We totally transformed the inside spa pool deck into a Moroccan club for dancing, dessert and hanging out. The existing Raj tent served as the dancing pavilion, where we first danced our first dance to 50’s tunes from the Tony Gala Band, and then partied the night away with our guests! Deck chairs and low tables surrounded the pool, and in spite of our best efforts, the many retired Navy Seals in the room (including Dougie’s father), wound up in the pool at one time of the night or another!
Nothing is ever exactly perfect, but once the day begins don’t worry and enjoy every moment of your wedding. Also, I found all of our vendors from looking at weddings I loved from different blogs and ended up LOVING all the girls we worked with! I wish I could hang out with them all the time and become their best friends. Also Etsy and Ebay are wonderful little sources for all your needs If you’re lucky enough to have a mom as creative and talented as mine, your wedding planning will be nothing but exciting and fun (with a few overwhelming moments thrown in there).
Once you find your perfect partner, the wedding is just a little icing on the cake!! I’m so blessed to have the man of my dreams as my hubby.
And check out this amazing wedding video Aqua Vivus put together – just love it!!

Where are those robes from? I just love them!
The Parker is a fab place to get hitched!
It looks more like a film set then a real wedding. Fantastic!
This truly was an amazing day that I am so delighted I was a party of! And as Hayley said – “SO” Hayley and Dougie! Love, love, love!
xo,
dCc
I love the robes! Where are they from? Also, love the miu miu shoes- I tried looking online for them to no avail. Do you happen to know what they are called?
Fabulous wedding!
Thanks for the nice feature, Jen! Hayley and her mom Diane were great creative partners in the process and I loved being their florist. Jill Thomas is incredible too! XO, Meg (La Partie Events)
On a photo-geek note, these totally look like medium format film. If they’re not, the photographer did a great job faking it! Beautiful wedding :)
this wedding is so fun and bright!
i’m crazy about the pom poms and her shoes
So excited for our wedding to be on green wedding shoes!! Woohoo!! The robes are from Plum Pretty Sugar

The Miu Miu shoes were a hard find. After seeing them in the Miu Miu store in a really small size I searched high and low for those babies, and was able to find only one pair online in a size too big. I just had to have them so I had them sized down to my size. I have no idea what they are even called, so i’m not sure you will have much luck finding them. Sorry!!!
Everywhere you looked, if you could take your eyes off Hayley and Dougie, there were wonderful touches of thoughtful and beautiful hand-made delight. So fun and so colorful, and tear-worthy ceremony and celebration!
the feature turned out beautifully jen. thank you again and it is always so fun to see my photos on GWS!!
This wedding looks so fun and lovely! Usually I don’t like too much pink but the way they did it was very classy and just right! I also can’t get enough of that video, great music choice and overall an adorable wedding and couple!
