Palm Springs DIY Wedding: Natalie + Chris

palm springs wedding

Natalie + Chris love to entertain in their home so for their wedding they set out to throw the best dinner party they could imagine. The Historic Cree Estate was the first and only venue they looked at in Palm Springs and they immediately fell in love with the lush + seemingly endless grounds as well as the freedom the estate afforded for them to create their wedding without any limitations. They poured their hearts into making almost everything for the wedding themselves including the ceremony backdrop to all the little paper goods including the invitations. In fact, Natalie runs the lovely Mint Love Social Club blog where she documented a bunch of the projects for the wedding and also shares great cocktail recipes + fun DIY projects. I love that Chris was really involved in the planning process also. Makes it that much more fun! To keep the color scheme and decorations from getting too “girly” they stuck with a color palette of white, grey, black/white stripe and kraft with accents of gold and mint green.

Big thanks to the awesome EP Love duo for the photos and heads up that Natalie will be sharing two fun DIY projects from her wedding later today, so stay tuned!

They wanted the ceremony to be personal + heartfelt so they each wrote their own vows and asked one of their good friends to officiate it. I’m also a huge fan of that gorgeous streamer backdrop!

For the reception, Natalie + Chris tried to focus on what makes a good dinner party and then translate that on a larger scale for a wedding including the long table set up, hand picked music selections and family style meal.

Aren’t the flowers so pretty! They were designed by Chelsea Kline of Hello, Gem! and she will be sharing how she created the centerpieces, bouquets + bouts later today on GWS along with some great advice for any of you thinking of DIYing your own flowers. :)
