For Amanda + Sean, who tied the knot at 26 Bridge in Brooklyn, New York, a relaxed celebration with their nearest + dearest, embracing the beauty of their city surroundings, was exactly what they had in mind. They went with a classic palette of mostly black + white, but added a sense of romance to the industrial space through subtle, softer elements like a lace ceremony backdrop + dreamy garden-inspired blooms. We think their wedding is the perfect inspiration for other couples tying the knot in warehouse, factory or urban place – and Amanda tells us more about their vision below…
At the end of the day, we both really just wanted to have a fun party with all of our friends. We didn’t want anything cheesy bridal or over the top, so we tried to keep it low key and personalized. We had great friends, great food, great drinks and great music and that’s all you need!
Thanks so much to Phil Chester for the stunning images and congratulations to A + S on a beautiful day!
The entire day was amazing, but we had a really unique morning! Most brides & grooms have a 'first look' prior to the ceremony but in our case, Sean was also the hair stylist, so he was essential to the whole getting ready process. It was really special for him to be able to do his daughter and future wife's hair on his wedding day.
Love, love love Amanda’s gorgeous dress she purchased at Lovely Bride!
The bridesmaids each chose their own long black dress (which they’re guaranteed to wear again + again!).
Amazing, amazing portraits by Phil Chester!

Amanda says, Use your resources, and enter contests! We were able so save a lot of money by doing things off season and letting helpful friends lend a hand. We were also so lucky to win a videography package from NST Pictures. It was really just the icing on the cake!
Be scrappy! If you don't have a big budget you can still have a fantastic wedding. One of my favorite vendors was our caterer. They were such a pleasure to work with, guests raved about their food, their yelp reviews were outstanding and they ended up being incredibly affordable. I truly could not have done it without them!

Indeed, that is a truly amazing dress. I love it!
I love her dress so much I just ordered it a week ago to wear to my wedding! I can not wait to get it!
Hi, Emily! I was hoping to order it too!! Did you order it from the website listed on this blog or were you able to find it somewhere else? I didn’t get a response from them yet!
I was looking into that too. Have you heard back from them? I have never heard of that label.
Maybe it’s better to order with lovely bride?
Hi! I just found this post in the roundup and LOVE the dress! I’m thinking about ordering it. Did you wear a lining of any kind at the top?
I’m in love with her dress. I ordered it for my September 12th, 2015 wedding and love it. Basix Black Label was fabulous to deal with!!
I’d love to see photos! So glad you were able to get the dress for cheaper then I did. :) I bet you looked amazing.
I ordered the dress directly from Basix Black Label back in August and still haven’t gotten it! My wedding is in two weeks! :(
did it ever come in ? I hope it worked out for you!
YES!!! I got it and it was absolutely perfect! I am so grateful you shared your wedding with the world because I would’ve never been as happy with a dress as I was this one! Thank you!!!
Cari! So glad the dress worked out for you. I’d love to see photos if you are okay with sharing. [email protected]
Beautiful wedding! :)
I ordered this dress and was surprised that the top was completely see-through! I still plan on wearing this for my wedding in August but need to figure out something for underneath! What did you do/wear to keep it nude while covering everything up?
Hi Chelsea –
So glad you ordered the dress! Yes it does come unlined from Basix. I ordered mine through lovely which did have a liner – but not to my taste – so I not only paid way more for the dress but ended up paying extra to have the liner removed and replaced. You’re better off starting from scratch. I would just find yourself a great tailor in your area and they can help you put a nude liner in – exactly to your preference. I had my fitted to my bodice, and the slit taken way up. I have a couple of girls who are doing it on their own, you’ll get the best results. If you want to email me at [email protected] – i can send you a few photos that better show my liner placement. Best of luck with your dress!
Hi Amanda, I ordered this dress online, tonight actually, for my wedding at the end of the month. I went through Basix and I’m hoping I can get it lined as well. I would love any advice on this that you may have to offer! Thank you
I purchased mine from basix black label without the lining and bought a nude sleeveless body suit undergarment at target to go under. It was perfect!!!
Hi Lisa, could you please email me- I have a few questions for you! [email protected]
Yes Amazing dress but Amazing work Phil ;)

Did anyone end up buying this dress from basix black online? I am worried to purchase without trying on! Were they easy to work with? How was sizing? Any input would be appreciated before I order! :)
Thanks!
Hi Kelly! So, Lovely Bride now sells that dress and you can try it on at one of their shops! The designer is Louvienne -http://lovelybride.com/designers/louvienne/
