Have you ever walked into an antique store or a vintage shop and looked around completely mesmerized? Your eyes wander as you gaze at all the second hand items, imagining all the memories and stories they hold… Sarah + Patrick happen to love that feeling of nostalgia and wanted to tie it into their big day. Bringing their loved ones from Germany to Barcelona, they said their vows in a cozy + intimate setting, inside an antique market!!
Sarah shares The venue was perfect, inside the most gorgeous antique market. It had a sort of romantic bohemian ambiance already, which is exactly what we wanted. Happy Endings Barcelona helped us plan everything, making it as seamless as possible even though we were not in Barcelona with them. The interior was decked out in soft white florals with touches of greenery, gold candlesticks, and we had many leather accents. Sort of feminine meets masculine!
Let’s take a step back in time in the photos captured by Raquel Benito!
Pampas grass, blue-hued rugs, a collection of antique chairs, and leather accents set the stage for their nuptials.
No place cards were used, instead they had hand-painted leather with the name of each guest.
How lovely is this vignette? Highlighting the feminine meets masculine elements of the day, we’re pretty fond of this — especially with all the textured grass by Studio Floral!
Patrick spills: I always knew that I wanted to marry Sarah someday – but hadn’t asked her just yet… So she did it — and it felt so right! She did that in June 2016, in my favorite bar in Barcelona after quite a few cava. Thus the wedding in Barcelona felt like the right location.
Patrick: When Sarah entered the wedding hall.... I will never forget that moment. Also, before dinner, we entered the wedding hall again and danced through the crowd while 'I Got A Feeling' by The Black Eyed Peas was playing. All our guests stood up and waved with their napkins!
Sarah: The most special moment of our wedding was when I walked down the corridor towards Patrick. My father was next to me and I started crying immediately when I entered the romantically decorated wedding hall and saw my future husbands in his amazing suit. Moreover, it was very special for me when Patrick stood up during the ceremony and made the most beautiful and emotional declaration of love I could have thought of. He had prepared several posters on which he had written all the things he loves about me and he loves doing with me. At the same time, his best man was playing a song from our favorite movie, 'Love Actually.'
Are you eyeing the details on Sarah’s dress? Exuding an elegant and bohemian feeling, this gorgeous gown is ‘First’ by Rembo Styling.
Processional: Come Away with Me by Nora Jones; Every Breath You Take by The Police; All You Need is Love by Lynden David Hall
Recessional: Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran + Barcelona by Ed Sheeran
First Dance: Auf Uns by Andreas Bourani; To Last in You by Sugababes
Poppin’ pinks! This bouquet by Studio Floral added a sweet + whimsical touch to Sarah’s bridal look.
Such gorgeous portraits, especially with all the textured colors in the background!
While these two embraced the present moment and took their first portraits as husband and wife, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour filled with Spanish food: cheeses, potatoes omelette, and churros!
Such a stunning wedding party! S+P encouraged everyone to choose an outfit that they felt best in, giving them the guidelines of groomsmen in blue and ladies in soft tones of peach, sage, and orange.
Before dinner, Patrick and I served our guests “chupitos” from a chupito bar. We acted as bartenders which gave us the chance to talk to all our guest before we started the party.
That leather seating chart is seriously RAD!!
Bringing in the masculine-meets-feminine details once again, each napkin was tied with a dainty leather wrap, on top of floral plates + a floral menu. Love this combination!
Be yourself and stay who you are. Do not force yourself into anything you do not really want and always remember that it is your wedding and not the wedding of someone else. Try to impress yourself.
Congratulations, Sarah + Patrick!!
