Happy Monday, friends! We can’t think of a better way to start the week than with Linda + Dean’s fun and colorful Australian wedding! These guys knew from the start that they wanted their day to be laid-back, full of life, and reflective of their (self-declared) quirky personalities. With a big focus on unique, handmade elements – our fave being Linda’s dress which was produced based off a design she dreamt up – they were able to craft a celebration that they’ll always be able to look back on with a big, huge smile.
Big thanks to Lara Hotz for sharing these creative + beautiful snapshots of L + D’s day with us! And heads up US couples! Lara will be in America all of June + July of 2015, documenting a limited number of weddings. If you are looking for a photographer around that time, she can be contacted through her website! She would love to capture some American weddings while traveling around. :)
Bravo on that dress, Linda +Â Jason Grech!
Pretty, pretty ‘maids in summer-y hues!
Such fun portraits!
Seriously, could these two be any cuter together? Since Dean shared their super sweet proposal story with us, we couldn’t resist sharing it with you guys!
We met at a hair stylist awards night in Melbourne Docklands.
I was the quirky charming Englishmen, obviously there for the free booze. Linda, was the sweet I’m not interested type clearly there to support her work friend on what she was unaware was going to be the first night of the rest of her life. Especially since my first sentence to Linda was ‘I’m going to marry you’. The ironic thing is, I wasn’t kidding.
Our relationship progressed with real meaning when Linda moved to London, England with me where I finished my Architectural Diploma and Linda managed a quirky little salon in East London. This was an amazingly fun time in our relationship full of travel, random adventure, life experiences and lots and lots of laughter.
The date had finally come 2nd June 2012, we were handed the keys to our first ever house. That night Linda was working late, so I rushed back to our newly purchased run down and completely empty home where I created a candlelight pathway and scattered rose petals everywhere. Later that night Linda came home and there I was on one knee surrounded by 1000’s of rose petals at the end of the candlelight path holding her 1950s cocktail diamond ring.
She said YES..!
Linda: Speeches are almost the most memorable moments in our crazy family, although the whole wedding day was just incredible.
Dean: The cheesy answer is ‘when we said I do’. The real answer is the first bite of that succulent antipasto platter along with the sweet sweet taste of beer over a game of ping pong. This was the period after the church and before the reception and was the first time that we actually relaxed and truly began to enjoy being husband and wife.
Linda: Enjoy every minute of the day. The fact is you are already so lucky to have found your "the one". This day will only happen once, so relax and have fun and celebrate your love for each other surrounded by all your family and friends.
Dean: Leave it to the ladies guys, they know best. Try not to control everything down to the last minute of your day because you’ll miss it and remember fun isn’t something you can plan so don’t try. And make sure you include confetti and lots of it.
