We just love weddings that really show off a couple’s personalities and today’s beautiful celebration, captured by Let’s Frolic Together, is the perfect example of what we’re talking about! Chelsea + Chris’ day was filled with elements that reflected their eclectic style – think pops of black and white, gold geometric elements, and painted cinderblocks with air plant, thistle, and amaranth centerpieces. They worked with the amazing team at Urban Shindigs to bring their playful vision to life, and C + C give Urban all the credit for making their event completely magical. We can’t go without mentioning that Chelsea + Chris’ vows were 100% “them” as well, including a line about ’til death or zombies do us part! Before we head straight into the photos, Chelsea tells us more about how they made their wedding really one-of-a-kind:
Our inspiration came from just things that we liked – like our pugs, our business (we own an art store and Chris is a tattoo artist), the colors gold and black, and the fact we wanted to be comfortable. We made the day about us by incorporating those factors (for example, we gave paintbrushes away as favors) as well as focusing more on what we felt would make our day memorable like the guests, music and food. Tawnee helped to develop the amazing vision for the Tim Burton, airplants, and concrete blocks inspiration.
Chels wore a sleek, modern dress by Johanna Johnson from The Dress Theory in San Diego and, below, catch a glimpse of her bridesmaids in lovely gray gowns from David’s Bridal.
Luxe Botanique nailed the day’s vibe with the textural florals featuring air plants, thistle, succulents + trailing jasmine.
Our most memorable moment was our ceremony, specifically our vows which included the clause, "until death or zombies do we part". We were really happy our officiant included that in our vows to eachother. However, my most memorable moment was when one of my bridesmaids during the reception, asked if it was ok if she cut her floor length dress shorter and then proceeded to do so by getting scissors and cutting her dress.

Our advice is to always keep yourself and your significant other in mind. Do what you want to do to keep your wedding about yourself. This day is about you marrying your best friend, not your guests.
