G + Mike thought of some pret-ty fun ways to infuse their personalities into their wedding. And while they may have had some ideas of their own, deciding to work with the talented floral + design team at Belovely was a genius move. Because with that many innovative thinkers on board, the creativity was really able to reach new heights! G tells us, Michael is 1/4 Native American, and grew up visiting his family’s tribe up in Maine. And I just so happen to love that culture and fashion. We incorporated Native American details throughout the decor, as well as the ceremony. We also grow a vegetable garden every year, and are mostly vegetarian, so the menu reflected that with a lot of custom designed, healthy vegetarian dishes. Overall, there were lots of natural details, a bunch of texture in the florals, and yoga blanket table runners – since we also do yoga!
With so many unique details mentioned right away, we’re guessing you’re interested in seeing how it all turned out. So, let’s check out the beautiful photos by Ash Imagery below!
When she started searching for her perfect wedding dress, G was on the hunt for one that had some blush notes to it, as her mother and grandmother both wore blush suit dresses for their small weddings years prior. Although she ended up finding her gold headpiece from Lovely Bride before finding her dress, once she laid eyes on that Claire Pettibone number, she knew it was the absolute perfect marriage (pun intended!) of gold and blush, and she had to have it. (More up-close views to come!)
Our written vows to each other were so beautiful, and our "gimpy" first dance. Mike had ruptured his Achilles 4 days before the wedding, and was on crutches and in a boot (then had surgery a few days after)!
^^ Bravo to the bridesmaids on those mismatched dresses! Just perfect! ^^
G owns True Beauty Marks and did a gorgeous job on her own hair + makeup!
Make sure to take some time for yourself, and with your new mate at some point during the day. Since I'm personally a wedding vendor (hair & makeup) I was working the morning of my wedding, and then rushed to get myself ready. I really wished I had relaxed and taken that time in the morning for myself. Even if just a few minutes, it gives you a little time to gather yourselves, and just soak it all in.
